Product description

Penetrative Timber Protection
Zeroflame Fire Retardant Treatment is a clear solution that soaks beneath the surface to leave the appearance of the timber aesthetically unchanged. Applied by brush, roller or spray it achieves British Standard Class 0 (Euroclass B) Fire Protection and Spread of Flame on solid timber. Zeroflame Fire Retardant Treatment can be used inside or out and the fire protection remains effective for the lifetime of the wood surface.

Fire Retardant Treatment soaks into the woods surface, sealing the wood but without leaving a clear glaze on top like a varnish. It then dries with virtually no evidence of the wood ever been treated, allowing you to keep the woods natural beauty and allows you to overcoat the timber with most good quality wood stains and varnishes!

The Basics
What you really need to know...

  • Apply 3 coats leaving 40-60mins between coats, each 5lt tin will cover a total of 18.5m² (i.e. if you have an area of 18.5m2 to protect, you will only need 1 x 5lt - there is enough in each 5lt to do the 3 coats)
  • Protects internal & external timber to British Standard Class 0 & Class 1 - What is Class 0 and 1?
  • Leaves a colourless finish that doesnt change the surface of the wood, similar to a wood preserver.
  • Can be applied to bare timber and can be overcoated by most wood stains or varnishes.
  • Can be applied with a brush, roller or spray gun.
  • Full certification is issued with every purchase.
  • Fully tested and approved to British Standards.
  • Works by insulating the timber from heat, retarding ignition and stopping the flame from spreading accross the surface.

Application Areas
Zeroflame Fire Retardant Treatment is a fire retardant system for the fire protection of hardwoods, softwoods and other cellulose based substrates.

Zeroflame Treatment treated timber must only be used above the Damp Proof Course level and/or above ground contact. Trials should be carried out on decorative timber species to check any shade changes prior to the full application of the Treatment.
