Asbestos Roof Paint

Corrugated asbestos roofing, asbestos cement and asbestos sheeting require specialist coatings to seal, repair and protect large surface areas. Rawlins Paints offer a wide selection of solvent and water-based rubber sealants and protective coatings for industrial properties, factories and commercial buildings. To help you get the right asbestos paint or sealant coating for the job, please refer to product data-sheets, or contact our technical support team, who'll be happy to assess your situation and provide recommendations for single or compatible combination products for roofing.

Asbestos roofing should not be left un-coated or unprotected, and in sealing the fibrous cement sheeting, these asbestos compatible paints and coatings will prevent water damage, or water seeping through to the underlying substrates and building architecture. Areas around asbestos sheets, such a roof tiles, flashings, box gutters, service ducts, outlet pipes, and areas which require a flexible coating, can also be protected and repaired using specialist paints and associated waterproofing products.

Asbestos Roof Sealers and Primers

Asbestos roof sealers and primers can be white, coloured or clear penetrating sealing agents, most are applicable by brush, roller or spray, and seal the asbestos surface without excessive material build-up prior to a topcoat. The asbestos sealer will help to bind and repair porous and old 'friable' asbestos roof sheets, and in doing so will encapsulate harmful dust and fibres from being exposed to workers, or members of the public. Ideally, asbestos primers and sealers would be used as a pre-treatment for porous asbestos roof sheeting, including corrugated roofing, and can be overcoated with asbestos paint.

Asbestos Paints and Coatings

These paints and coatings are perfect for asbestos roof renovation and minor repair work, in sealing and binding old asbestos fibres. As with all roof paints and coatings available at Rawlins Paints, they will extend and prolong the lifespan of the roof, providing long-term waterproofing and general weather protection - including colour stability against high UV exposure and a low sheen finish where required.

These premium grade and industrial standard asbestos coatings form attractive and high strength finishes on a variety of asbestos cement roofing, around cladding sheets and corrugated asbestos typically found on older commercial and industrial buildings. With appropriate cleaning regimes, these paints and coatings work with the asbestos to leave a dependable encapsulating finish.

Guarantees, Warranties and Life Expectancies for Large Roofing Projects

Our roof coating systems are designed to waterproof, protect and decorate almost all types of roofing materials. Roof coatings are often the most cost effective way to renovate a roof by allowing the user to extend the life expectancy without the need of a specialist contractor.

However, often larger roofing projects require some form of ‘guarantee’ for the client and/or building owner to provide peace of mind that the coating system applied to the roof will protect/waterproof the roof for an agreed period of time.

We offer systems that can be used year round to provide upto 5, 10, 15 and 25 years protection when applied by an approved contractor to flat, metal, pitched, felt, asbestos, corrugated roofs and more. Cold applied, seamless systems mean no need for heat or naked flames providing tough, elastomeric, waterproofing coatings that withstand thermal/structural movement.

We will visit your site and carry out a full inspection, write a tailored specification to meet your requirements and offer an approved contractor for the application. We will never offer a contractor that we have not trained and approved, all our contractors have successfully completed specific product training on the systems they apply and are monitored regularly to ensure the highest standard of quality is achieved.

By using one of our nationwide approved contractors for our products you enable yourself to take advantage of our guarantees, life expectancies and warranties. This means that if we say our system is going to last a certain amount of time, or perform in a certain way and it doesn’t, you’re covered.

If you’re a contractor and would like to become an approved installer of our systems please contact us on 0113 245 5450
