5 Ways to Make Use of Chalkboard Paint

Paint doesn’t have to be limited to standard basecoats and topcoats. There are many, many textures, effects and styles you can choose from! We love chalkboard paint as it can transform a room and be used for so many purposes. If you’ve never thought about it before, you’ll want to get some after reading this!!

1) Create A Classic Chalkboard

Of course, we couldn’t begin without the classic chalkboard. It may remind you of your school days – but they can be incredibly useful and stylish now! Brush or roller some Blackfriar Chalkboard Paint onto a wall and pop a frame around it. You’ll instantly have a durable, black finish that can be written on with chalk. It’s easy to write on and clean – think of the places you could use it! It could be for changing restaurant menus, a pub sign or even just for kids to draw on. If you have an old chalkboard, shake off the dust and rejuvenate it with Blackfriar Chalkboard Paint. You’ll be using it again in no time!

2) Spray Paint Your Furniture And Accessories

It may sound mad, but spray painting your furniture with Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Paint can give you real creative freedom! You could spray paint a chest of drawers, and use chalk to label each draw. That way, you can change the labels whenever you like. Fantastic fun for kids too. Another idea is to spray small frames to hang as decorative chalkboards, or even to spray bottles as decorative items which you can change the image or label on!

3) Transform A Fridge

Imagine if you could attach notes to your fridge easily AND write on it? If you find your fridge magnets just don’t quite stick, use Rust-Oleum Magnetic Chalkboard Paint (Brush) to get the best of both worlds. Not only will your fridge definitely be magnetic, but you’ll also be able to write shopping lists, reminders and so much more on it!

4) Create A Colourful Play Area

Chalk does make us think of kids, so why not use it to create fun activity areas for children? Choose an exciting Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Paint (Brush) colour like pink or blue, to brighten up a play area that children can interact with. The paint is tough and scratch resistant, so you don’t have to worry about eager-to-play children!

5) Don’t Forget Whiteboards

As well as the classic chalkboard, there is the classic whiteboard. Whiteboards can be useful in the office or at home, as you are free to use it as you wish, and wipe it all away when you’re done. Instead of buying a whiteboard – why not paint one? With Rust-Oleum Dry Wipe Paint, you can transform ANY surface into a whiteboard, which is easy to wipe clean. Don’t limit yourself to wall spaces – you can be as creative as you would be with chalkboard paint!
