Get the Right Paint

If your court is in need of a complete re-work, you can purchase specialised paint in a wide variety of colours to make sure it looks the part. Paints such as Coo-Var Tennis Court & Drive paint are made especially for tennis courts. It’s a water thinned acrylic coating that’s perfect for adding colour to asphalt or tar based hard courts. You could also use paint such as Rust-Oleum Tarmacoat. It’s a very fast-drying multi-purpose paint that offers protection against weathering and can even withstand car traffic!

Try a Good Coating

To ensure you don’t have to keep going back to go-over your tennis court paintwork, use a good coating. Paints like Rust-Oleum’s Mathys Pegasol Quartz are specially designed to ensure a durable finish with anti-slip protection.

Tidy Up Your Lines

Your tennis court may not need a complete re-paint; perhaps the lines and markings just need sprucing up. Depending on your preference you could use paint like Coo-Var Line Paint for a fast drying, water thinned acrylic resin based line marking paint. If you’d prefer to use aerosols, we recommend Coo-Var Road Line Marking Aerosol Paint – it’s fast drying, multi-surface and available in several colours. Clean and tidy lines will make sure your tennis court looks sharp!

Clean Regularly

If your paintwork is up to scratch, the next important step is to keep on top of regular cleaning. You should clean your court thoroughly at least once a month. Water is often sufficient enough to keep it clean, however you may want to use a mild detergent to remove any marks or stains. Rainwater can help to keep a court clean but be wary of standing water and any debris left behind on your court.

    • Hi Derek,

Each product comes with a datasheet which outlines finer details, such as re-coverage timeframes. This will differ slightly from product to product, and can be dependant on exposure, use and other factors which may age the surface. The datasheets are free to download from each product page.

If there’s any other questions about specific tennis court paints, please do let us know.

      Best regards.

  4. I never knew that there are specialized paints for tennis courts that you may use to have your tennis court repainted! This sure is a perfect timing as my friend and I were just talking about renovating his tennis court at the back of his home. He mentioned about its dull state as he cannot find time to fix it due to his daily workload in the office. Sharing this could probably cheer him up while suggesting him to find someone to do the whole re-work for him.

  5. Do you spec a rust inhibitor for a new court construction over the surface bituminous pavement?
