Premium, Classic Chartwell Green Paint – Elegant, Versatile and Easy to Apply

Chartwell Green Paint adds charm and distinction to exterior and interior spaces without drawing undue attention. Its origins link to Chartwell House, the former home of Winston Churchill, where this muted green first gained prominence. Today, it’s favoured in heritage zones, listed properties and rural builds for its ability to soften hard edges and sit comfortably against natural stone, brick, or rendered finishes. The shade is equally welcome in newer developments where design leans toward subtle and reserved tones. It’s a popular choice for doors and window frames, with specialist uPVC paint options offering a quick and durable refresh for tired plastic surfaces.

A wide selection of surface-specific paints is available in Chartwell Green, including products for galvanised metal, timber, plaster and previously coated areas. These are typically offered in a choice of finishes and are suitable for both DIY and trade use. High-opacity masonry paints in this colour are ideal for garden walls, boundary features and rendered façades, giving a consistent and refined appearance that complements natural landscaping. Some products can also be applied using spray equipment, helping to speed up larger jobs such as cladding, garage doors or industrial units. The colour pairs effortlessly with soft whites, greys and natural stone shades. For conservation projects or areas where colour precision is key, many coatings can be matched closely to BS 14 C 35 or a similar tone. Always consult the technical team to ensure the most appropriate system is used for the surface in question.

Chartwell Green Paint FAQs

Can Chartwell Green Paint be used on composite doors?

Yes - Kolorbond uPVC Painting Kit and Zinsser Allcoat Exterior can be applied directly after careful preparation.

Does the colour fade quickly outdoors?

Not if a UV-stable paint is used. Many exterior products in this shade contain UV blockers to reduce discolouration over time.

Can I paint directly onto old uPVC?

Yes. Ensure it is clean and properly abraded. You can use an all-in-one primer topcoat like Zinsser Allcoat Exterior or Kolorbond, tinted to Chartwell Green.

What base colour is Chartwell Green made from?

It’s a blend of muted sage green with grey and soft white tones, which reduces brightness and gives it a heritage appearance.

Are spray finishes available?

Yes, depending on the brand. Some Chartwell Green coatings come in aerosol cans or can be thinned for use with HVLP sprayers.
