Downlight Fire Covers

A fire can easily work its way into ceiling spaces above suspended ceilings and into loft areas through non-fire-rated light fittings such as downlighters. Using an insulated fireproof downlighter cover - otherwise known as a "hood" - prevents smoke and flames spreading through a fire-resistant ceiling or fire barrier, containing a fire for longer to aid evacuation of buildings and so emergency services can leap into action. Keeping fire limited to spaces should keep damage at a minimum, resulting in shorter downtime and less restoration costs for businesses.

At Rawlins Paints, our range of downlighter covers, hoods and cages provide ventilation to light fittings, with intumescent linings expanding in fire to close up gaps when attacked by fire. Extra acoustic and insulating linings prevent loss of heat and dampen travelling sounds, ideal for multi-storey buildings, especially with residential spaces above businesses such as offices and shops.
