Concrete Floor Sealers
Concrete floors which require high-performance primers to harden and seal the surface and further improve its adhesion, will lengthen the lifespan of topcoat systems – allowing for high-performance protection for longer periods of time in areas where manufacturing plant equipment needs to be installed and maintenance work kept to a minimum with the use of high-end products in the surface preparation and finishing stages.
The products listed in this category will protect untreated masonry and concrete floors in warehouses and more, against:
- Chemical resistance
- Oil spills and fuel leaks
- Abrasive cleaning chemicals
- Light to medium vehicular use
- Pedestrian and footfall traffic
- Concrete dust
- Surface and trapped substrate damp and moisture build-up
- Weather and environmental exposure
- UV discolouration
- See product datasheets for further specifications and related product compatibility for the ultimate concrete floor protection
Please refer to product datasheets for product compatibility with treating cement screeds, brickwork, blockwork, plaster and porous tiles.
Dependant on requirements, water-based and solvent-based floor primers and sealers are available. These differ in VOCs, drying time, recoatable times and approximate coverage rates. Each product varies in graded performance for; new-build projects which require a sealer to reduce the porosity of and work deep beneath new concrete surfaces, dustproofing it in a single clear coating - against older concrete flooring that has recently been repaired and may need a hardened sealer to further reinforce it.
Industrial Concrete Floor Primers
Concrete floors in more aggressive environments, such as factories and warehouses, along with commercial garages and vehicle manufacture plants will require heavy-duty floor primers that can be overcoated with concrete or epoxy floor paints. These will help deliver high-performing protection against impact damage and light, medium and heavy vehicular use. If you prefer to use concrete floor primers and finishing paints by the same manufacturer, but are after a unique or specifically coloured topcoat, or are wanting further information about the compatibility of products by different manufacturers, please contact our technical support team. They can recommend suitable products, and offer application and storage advice on any purchases made.
The specialist team at Rawlins Paints can provide full technical support across all Blackfriar Professional, Coo-Var, Ennis-Flint, Jotun, Rust-Oleum, Sherwin-Williams and Sika floor sealers and primers.
Rawlins Paints’ Floor Sealers and Primers
Rawlins Paints also offer its own range of high-performance epoxy and clear floor sealers and primers for damp-proofing problematic and porous floor substrates, providing improved adhesion to areas requiring a full floor paint system installation, and priming sheet metal flooring.
Our tack-free floor primers and sealers are designed for commercial and industrial projects and builds. Contact us if you'd like more assistance and technical support with our range of concrete floor sealers and primers.
Book a Site Visit for Large Floor Renovation and Refurbishment Projects
Painting floors with high-quality commercial or industrial coatings is much more cost effective and less disruptive to a project than using cheaper substitutes. Larger projects require some form of ‘guarantee’ for the client and/or building owner to provide peace of mind that the coating system applied to internal or external flooring will last for an agreed period of time - if correctly maintained.
Using our products, it is possible to decorate and protect concrete, tarmac, asphalt, wood or metal floors, both improving its life expectancy for greater periods of times, and delivering waterproofing and protective properties that can lower the risk of major repair and costly maintenance work. Achieve long-lasting results, with the wide range of floor paints and coatings available at Rawlins Paints today.
We offer systems that are available in virtually any colour and finish - including colour matching existing decorative or company colour schemes - in our light to medium (pedestrianised) right up to heavy use (light to medium vehicular activity) coatings for a wide range of interior or exterior substrates and surface materials.
A trained member of our Technical Support Team will visit your site and carry out a full inspection, write a tailored specification to meet your requirements and offer an approved contractor for the application. We will never offer a contractor that we have not trained and approved, all our contractors have successfully completed specific product training on the systems they apply and are monitored regularly to ensure the highest standard of quality is achieved.
By using one of our nationwide approved contractors for our products you enable yourself to take advantage of our guarantees, life expectancies and warranties. This means if we say our system is going to last a certain amount of time, or perform in a certain way and it doesn’t, you’re covered.
If you’re a contractor and would like to become an approved installer of our systems please contact us on 0113 245 5450
