Fluorescent Paints

Fluorescent paint is a vivid and intense colour used to draw attention to important details and for marking equipment, doorways, exits and other areas for safety or directional purposes.

Fluorescence is familiar to most people in offices when they use highlighter pens to mark their reports, and it’s the same principle that makes fluorescent paints perfect for marking surfaces.

At Rawlins Paints, we have various fluorescent paints in stock, including the very heavily used yellow reflective paint. This is a highly recognised safety colour and used in many manufacturing and public areas to denote health and safety regulations.

Fluorescent yellow paint is available from Coo-Var. Their Glocote Fluorescent Paint is a high visibility coating during the day and works under lights at night to showcase hazards and keep people safe. Used on bollards, low beans, ships, bridges, bollards, among many other objects, it also comes in green, orange, red and pink.

Glow paint should be used on metal, masonry, GRP or wood to make sure you comply with all health and safety legislation. It can be applied as a brush-on fluorescent paint, as a spray paint or with a roller if preferred. In order to work properly, however, Coo-Var Glocote Fluorescent paint should be applied on top of Coo-Var Glocote Foundation. This high density white basecoat helps to increase the visibility of the final finish.

Similarly, if you are using Glocote day glo paint outside, on floors that have a high level of traffic, or on surfaces that experience a lot of chemical wear, then you should use Coo-Var Glocote Protective Coat on top. This will ensure that the fluorescent paint effect lasts much longer and doesn’t need to be replaced as often.

Fluorescent Spray Paint

For a fluorescent spray paint you can use externally and internally on all sorts of substrates and surfaces, have a look at the Rust-Oleum Hard Hat Fluorescent Topcoats range. Ideal if you’re looking to paint railings, signs, machinery or are looking for fluorescent paint for walls, floors or ceilings, Rust-Oleum Hard Hat coatings are high visibility and easy to use.

If you’re looking for orange fluorescent paint, then Hard Hat covers your needs. It’s also available as a fluorescent green paint and luminous yellow paint, among other options. Ideal to mark out a high visibility safety barrier or if you need a fluorescent paint for fishing floats, Hard Hat has multiple uses.

Rust-Oleum Hard Hat should be used over Rust-Oleum Hard Hat Matt White basecoat for best results. If you need the surface to withstand harsh weather, cleaning and chemicals, for example, in an industrial or external environment, then you should also use Rust-Oleum Transparent Protection over the top.

Simple to use and quick to dry, Hard Hat sprays are ideal for signalling or marking safety signs and equipment, particularly in maintenance and industrial environments.

Alternatively, if you’re after a high quality hi vis spray paint that can be sprayed directly onto metal, wood and glass, Rust Oleum High Glow Paint is your best bet. Available in Red/Orange matt and Yellow Matt, it’s a simple, effective product to mark anything that needs a bright, fluorescent finish. Simply spray on to any surface and it’ll dry within 15 minutes.

Reflective Tape and Barrier Tape

For easy to use and quick to apply safety markings, tape is always popular. We sell Reflective Hazard Tape and Barrier Tape, both of which are economical ways to mark areas or cordon off areas that need to be avoided or controlled, particularly in a busy area. Ideal for pedestrian areas with a lot of foot traffic, or to mark safety exits at a function or conference, tape is easy and reversible.
