Wax is good for applying to interior wood furniture, nourishing the wood from within and protecting it from scrapes and spills. Wood furniture wax keeps your furnishings healthier for longer, preventing stains. The wax forms a barrier against dust and dirt, often able to simply be wiped off with a cloth, helping to keep wood furniture clean around the house or workplace.

You may prefer to use wood wax on furniture over an oil for its satin finish and glossy appearance. Waxed wooden surfaces can also resist liquid spills, protecting your wood furniture from stains and reducing exposure to the moisture, but are not 100% waterproof.

Wood furniture wax is versatile, able to be applied over almost any other wood finish including stain, oil, varnish, and paint. When your furniture dulls and requires rewaxing, you can simply apply more wax, whereas with a varnish, you would need to sand and strip the bare of its varnish coating before reapplying.

Osmo Wood Wax Finish has 25 colour options that are ideal for putting the colour back into old and tired wood furniture. This is great for modern schools where brightly coloured wooden desks, chairs, and storage units are used. They can also be used to lighten and darken wood, to change the look of furnishings to match new interior décor, ideal for homes and heritage buildings.

With upcycling and recycling becoming more popular these days, people are using coloured waxes to restore and protect their thrifty finds for many years to come, saving big money over buying new furniture. Rust-Oleum Finishing Wax, for instance, is used to protect the finish achieved with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint for shabby-chic interiors.
