Description

Coo-Var® Suregrip® Anti-Slip Floor Paint is a ready-mixed floor coating for suitably primed concrete, wood, metal and GRP which provides a rough, anti-slip finish when dry. Suregrip provides durability, decoration and protection. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Coo-Var® Suregrip® is a safety coating suitable for indoor and outdoor use where a sure foothold is required. Ideal for boats, steps and stairways, disabled ramps, doorways, machinery areas, most floors and other areas where moisture and other substances may cause the floor to be slippery. Suitable for use on suitably prepared concrete, wood, metal and GRP. For foot, light truck and occasional heavy truck use.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free from contaminants. Concrete - power floated, granolithic and smooth surfaces should be roughened first to provide a good "key" for the paint. This can be done mechanically by abrading or blasting, or chemically using Coo-Var Acid Etch. These processes will have the advantage in addition to preparing the surface of also removing dirt and laitance.

New concrete must be allowed to cure thoroughly which can take up to 3 months. Apply a 10% thinned coat of Coo-Var Floor Paint to prime and seal the surface prior to applying Coo-Var® Suregrip®. Other surfaces have to be prepared and primed with the suitable primer for that substrate.

Existing painted surfaces - Surfaces should be cleaned, degreased and sanded to ensure an adequate "key" is produced. Remove all loose and flaking material and treat bare areas as new substrate and prepare accordingly.

Mixing Instructions

Stir well before use. DO NOT USE MECHANICAL SHAKER!

Application Conditions

As dictated by normal good painting practice. In confined spaces provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.

Preceding Coat

Coo-Var Penetrating Wood Primer on wood, Coo-Var Zinc Phosphate Metal Primer on ferrous
metals, 10% thinned Coo-Var Floor Paint or CooVar Alkali Resisting Primer on concrete.

Subsequent Coat

Coo-Var® Suregrip®

Concrete - power floated, granolithic and smooth surfaces should be roughened first to provide a good "key" for the paint. This can be done mechanically by abrading or blasting, or chemically using Coo-Var Acid Etch. Question:

Is the non slip surface very rough. I have a 75' length garden where I throw a ball for my dog to run back and forth to me. Would the non slip be too rough on her paws ? also is it easy to clean and sweep off leaves etc.

Answer:

It is a coarse anti-slip finish which can make it tough to clean. If you're looking for something less aggressive we would recommend Rust-Oleum Tarmacoat.
