Product Description

Anti Slip Stair Nosings are easy to fit and help highlight the hazardous leading edge area of the step. This is the ideal product if you are looking for an affordable solution to minimise the risk of slips, trips, and falls in the workplace or in your own garden. Not only does stair nosing add an extra anti-slip surface underfoot, but it also highlights attention to the edge of a stair - which can often be missed in low lighting, particularly outdoors or in a poorly lit stairwell.

Luminous Stair Nosings (only available in the 55x55mm size) provide a highly visible yellow colour in normal light and produces a long lasting luminous glow in low light. Gives an effective contrast to the background and highlights the leading edge of the step to ensure good visibity in an emergency when lighting is poor.

  • Use on timber, concrete or metal stairs/steps.
  • Easy install, simply glue and screw to the existing substrate.
  • Gritted surface provides exceptional slip resistance, BS7976 - 2 tested.
  • Manufactured from corrosion resistant GRP.
  • Reduces trip hazard risk and allows a flush fit with existing substrate.
  • Safety yellow, white, black, beige and luminous available to provide an effective colour contrast in accordance with DDA Legislation.

Our Anti Slip Stair Nosing is manufactured from premium grade slip resistant fiberglass to maximise quality; durability and lifespan and can be cut to any size. Simply glue and screw your stair nosing to Timber, Concrete, Chequer Plate steps or stairs.

Material Characteristics

Quality Assurance: Manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 accredited Quality Management System, the structural integrity of the specified material is high grade. A suggested life span of 25 years is expected, but not guaranteed, and is based on a number of variables: environmental, installation process, maintenance, loading and traffic conditions.

Slip Resistance: The integral angular quartz gritted surface has been tested and certified in accordance with BS 7976-2. It provides an exceptional level of slip resistance over its lifespan. Lifespan depends on frequency of use.

Chemical Resistance: Fibreglass products are resistant to a wide range of chemicals across a broad temperature spectrum. GRP is made using a number of different resins to achieve specific chemical resistant properties. Please refer to chemical resistance charts at the end of data sheet.

Fire Resistance: All products contain a Fire Resistant Additive resulting in a Euro Class 1 fire rating in accordance with ISO 9239-1 and ISO 11925-2. This performance is equivalent to ASTM E84 class 1 and BS 476 part 7 class 2 flame spread and in effect gives a 25 minute burn time on the material.

questions Nathan Pegg  on 08/12/2018

Can this product be cut on site? Also what's best to use to cut it?

Yes - if any localised trimming/cutting is required, we recommend the use of a Jigsaw, preferably fitted with a tungsten carbide blade (Bosch T141 HM or similar) or suitable hacksaw or grinder – with a stone or diamond cutting disc. The operative should ensure he is wearing appropriate P.P.E. and uses cutting equipment in a safe manner. Care should be taken to select a safe area for cutting and ensure the safety of others. A suitable bench should be used. It is best to cut the sheet face side up. Standard marking and cutting procedures should be employed. All waste material should be disposed of using duly appointed receptacles.

I need something to highlight step edges but not create a trip hazard due to the raised profile of the steel plate.

Yes our 1101 Anti-Slip Stair Nosings can be used on these type of steps, we would recommend fixing with our Self Drilling Screws for metal and our 1106 Clear Adhesive.
