Product Description

Thermoguard Cladcoat is a rapid drying, self priming, one coat, low sheen finish for most types of metal and plastic cladding, as well as plastic fittings and signage.

Thermoguard Cladcoat is fully compliant and can be brushed, rolled or sprayed at temperatures down to 5°C. Available in a comprehensive range of colours, Thermoguard Cladcoat offers outstanding durability, flexibility and colour fastness.

There are many different makes of plastic cladding and while Thermoguard Cladcoat is approved for Plastisol® and has been used successfully on the vast majority, no single paint system is suitable for every situation. Thermoguard recommend an application/adhesion trial of a test area and will provide a refundable sample tin for this purpose.

It is the responsibility of the specifier/end user to take advantage of this service in order to satisfy themselves of the compatibility of Thermoguard Cladcoat and the substrate to be coated. Many rigid plastics, including Foamex® and PVC can be coated, allowing redecoration of brackets, fittings and rainwater goods, but all should be spot tested as above.

Thermoguard Cladcoat has been successfully employed in other areas where corrosion resistance, durability and colour fastness is required.

Recommended Uses

  • Gates and railings
  • Metal fencing
  • Most building plastics
  • Exposed structural and decorative steel
  • Foamex®
  • Plastisol®
  • PVC
  • Galvanised metal - Cladcoat can be applied direct to weathered galvanised surfaces after removal of 'white rust' (zinc corrosion deposits) using copious quantities of water.

Thermoguard Cladcoat is a flexible, anti-corrosive coating which lasts better than standard paints and coatings.

questions Sam khan on 01/12/2018

Does this product have a BBA certificate

No, the only coating we are currently able to offer that can be applied to metal cladding with BBA approval is the Tor Elastaseal Z system. This however is an unusual system to specify for this type of application and we would need further details before we could clarify suitability and the correct system to apply.

Hi, I'm looking to paint my single garage door in white, but note the minimum order is 50l. Is there anyway you can do a smaller order please?

For a single, metal garage door we would instead recommend Rust-Oleum CombiColor.

Question: I am having a new portacabin modular building installed. It has plastisol exterior walls that only come in a very limited range of colours.
If I use this product how long can I expect it to look good before a re-coat is required

The colours are fade-resistant automotive, to give extended time before fade. Colours are designed to retain colour for the following periods in normal environments: General colours - 10 years / Reds - in which even car paints fade - 7 years.
