Jotun Balloxy HB Lumi is a version of Balloxy HB Light – containing luminous pigments. This surface tolerant, high solids, high build paint for water ballast tank is specially designed for areas where optimum surface preparation is not possible or desired. Provides long lasting protection in environments with high corrosivity. Can be used as primer, mid coat or finish coat in atmospheric and immersed environments. Suitable for properly prepared carbon steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel, aluminium and a range of aged coating surfaces. It can be applied at sub zero surface temperatures.

Compatible with ballast water treatment systems (BWTS)
When the approved BWTS systems are operated correctly and the active species’ concentration is not above 10 ppm, we see no detrimental effect on correctly applied and cured Jotun Balloxy HB Lumi.

In order to obtain correct dry film thickness (DFT), Balloxy HB Lumi has built-in a visual DFT – you will obtain proper hiding of the substrate when the minimum wet film thickness is applied.

Jotun Balloxy HB Lumi aids inspection with the help of a UV lamp.

First coat inspection:

• Areas of under thickness show up as ‘black’ spots
• Areas of high dry film thickness appear much brighter than low thickness areas

Second coat inspection:

• Holidays will show the first coat only, and any other defects will be seen
