![]() | Question: Can both sterisheen and sterimatt be used as a two coat finish over existing emulsions?
Regards
Glenn Bursford |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Sikagard 205 W (Sterisheen) has been discontinued and replaced by Sikagard 405 W and Sikagard 206 W (Sterimatt) has been discontinued and replaced by Sikagard 406 W. The simple answer to you question is "Yes", but you'll need to rub down the existing coating assuming that it is well adhered etc. and use a coat of Sika Bonding Primer to achieve the best possible adhesion.
![]() | Question: When using the Sika sterisheen top coat, what brush do you advise best? most the brushes I use are useless especially with heat from working in a food factory |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: A good quality synthetic bristle brush tends to be best for water based paints.
