Preparation
For concrete and other absorbent mineral substrates which are dry, free of contamination, dust and efflorescence. Note: not suitable for applying over existing floor paint systems
New concrete should be allowed to dry for at least 28 days prior to painting
Moisture content of floor may be checked by placing a secured sheet of plastic on the floor for 24 hours and then examining for any signs of condensation. Appearance of condensation indicates concrete is not sufficiently dry to allow painting
If the concrete is loose, chipping or has concrete dust present, the coating will not perform properly unless all loose material and dust is removed and damaged areas are repaired
Existing coatings must be completely removed. For best performance, complete vacuum blast cleaning of the substrate is recommended. Bradite TD39 industrial strength detergent washing and rinsing should be used with scrubbing, if necessary, to remove grease or oil
Substrate to be completely clean and free of all oil, grease, dust prior to application. Cleaning process may need to be repeated
Application
Please consult specific floor finishing product datasheet for further system details
Application and use should always conform to the codes of practice described in BS 6150 and BS 5493
Material must be thinned prior to application on new or uncoated concrete to enable penetration and binding of substrate
Mixing Instructions:
Pour complete contents of activator can into the base can
Mix thoroughly to an even cream colour and consistency (Use a cordless power drill, with paint paddle attachment, for best results)
With mixing, add 1000ml of clean tap water
On smooth substrates, the use of a suitably sized foam or short pile roller is highly recommended
1 coat required. Subsequent coats will be dependent upon the desired Bradite floor coating system
Bradite Floor Primer may be slightly tacky underfoot when applying finishing system
Clean all equipment immediately after use with clean tap water for best results
