questions Elaine Horton on 2019-08-11 23:34:30

Hello, would this be ok to paint a upvc door? Thanks, Elaine

Rust-Oleum Universal All Surface Paint is suitable for most plastics and this would include uPVC. If it is weathered a good wash down will be suitable preparation, then apply 2 coats of the Universal All Surface paint.

questions scott weir on 2019-04-03 15:43:45

would this be suitable for fiberglass or ceramic bath tub if not what do you recommend would like to change the colour from white, thanks

Assuming you are painting the outside of the bathtub then we would recommend the following primer Rust-Oleum 3333 Super Adhesion Primer followed by 2 coats of Rust-O-Thane 9200 Handy Pack - we wouldn't have anything suitable for the internals of the bathtub

questions Ian Ditchfield on 2019-03-17 14:20:06

Will this product be suitable to paint directly on to a galvanised surface ? Regards Ian

Rust-Oleum Universal Special Metals Primer must be used on Galvanised steel and other non ferrous metals prior to application of Rust-Oleum Universal All Surface Paint.

questions Richard wheatley on 2018-10-22 19:42:49

Hi, would I require a primer on to bare metal or is this suitable to go straight on?

Rust-Oleum Universal All Surface Paint is self priming so on ferrous/steel surfaces it does not require a primer unless additional corrosion protection is required then an anti rust primer can be applied. For other types of metals the Rust-Oleum Universal Special Metals Primer must be used.

questions Jane Russell on 2018-01-25 11:01:29

Hi would this spray be suitable to cover melamine cupboard doors, regards Jane

Yes, Rust-Oleum Universal All Surface Paint could be applied directly to clean melamine surfaces and will provide a reasonably durable finish.

For a tougher coating, priming with Zinsser B-I-N then top coating with Zinsser Perma-White Interior (tinted to your colour of choice) would be a better option.

questions Fiona on 2017-07-19 18:45:11
Question: Hi. Would this be suitable to spray bathroom tiles? I feel a spray would give a better finish that the paints that are available. Thanks in advance.

Yes you can apply the Universal Spray to ceramic tiles.

The tiles must be free from soap and shampoo residues. Following a good wash down, a final wipe over with methylated spirits will give a good clean surface.

Note: The product would not be suitable for use within a tiled shower area where the coating will be subjected to direct hot water for long periods. Avoid cleaning the painted surface with abrasive cleaning products, a regular wipe over with a damp cloth will avoid damaging the coating.

Question: hello - would this product spray and stick to wood that has a varnish on without me having to sand it off

Rust-Oleum Universal All Surface Paint should go over a well cured varnish surface no problem without sanding as long as there is no wax or spray polish on the surface. Wiping the surface down with Methylated Spirits would be good preparation. If the varnish is recently applied i.e. less than a month, then a test area should be done first.
