Thermoguard Flame Retardant Floor Paint is a heavy-duty decorative flame retardant coating for floors to showrooms, factories, warehouses, workshops, garages, etc.

A water-based, high durability two-pack epoxy resin coating, designed to withstand vehicular and fork lift truck traffic. The chemically cured coating provides excellent resistance to oils, inks and other chemicals. It can be used on bare, unpainted and previously painted floors.

Tests at UKAS Fire Test Laboratory indicated BS 476 Parts 6 & 7 Class O EN Class B s1 dO.

Fire Test Standards

Tests at UKAS Fire Test Laboratory indicated BS 476 Parts 6 + 7 Class O and Class B s1 dO.

Surface Preparation

• Ensure surface is sound, clean and thoroughly dry
• Remove any latence or slurry
• Existing paint must be firmly adhered
• Abrade old Anti-Graffiti or other hard, smooth, impermeable paints with 120 grit abrasive to get a good key & dust off
• Machine polished / power floated concrete floors should be mechanically or acid etched to provide a key
• If acid is used, rinse to neutralise and allow to dry
• For previously painted floors, ensure existing paint films are sound and firmly adhering
• Remove all loose, flaking and suspect films, clean them thoroughly with abrasive cleaner, rinse and allow to dry thoroughly
• Hard 2 pack floor paints may need abrasion to give a key
• Inferior floor paints are best removed where practical

Application

• Apply by brush, roller or airless spray
• Allow new concrete to fully dry and cure
• Do not apply in damp conditions when condensation may form or below 4°C
• Stir base and activator thoroughly, then mix, stirring well to create a homogenous mix (use of a paint stirrer on an electric drill is recommended)
• Pot life once mixed 2 hours

Bare unpainted floors:

• Apply TWO COATS at 8m², thin first coat 10% with water
• Apply 2nd coat 16 > 72 hrs after 1st coat **

** Overcoat times @ 20°C. Colder temperatures or high humidity extend overcoat times.

Previously painted floors:

• Apply two coats at 10m² per kg
• Apply 2nd coat 16 > 72 hrs after 1st coat **

** Overcoat times @ 20°C. Colder temperatures or high humidity extend overcoat times.

Composition

• High durability epoxy resin
• High grade fade-resistant colourant pigments
• Adhesion promoters
• Water based

Curing

Please Note: Colder temperatures or high humidity delay dry, cure & hardening.

Storage

• Store in tightly closed original container in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place
• Store in closed original container at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C
• Protect from freezing and direct sunlight
• Keep upright

Coverage

• 8-10m²/kg
