Product Description

Rust-Oleum Mathys Murfill Waterproofing Coating is an elastic, crack bridging and waterproofing exterior wall coating with a microporous structure that ensures the substrate is constantly able to breathe. Ready for use on a range of surfaces, it is simple to apply on any exterior wall, this water based coating provides the highest protection and offers guaranteed waterproofing.

Features & Benefits

  • 100% Waterproof - An exterior wall treated with Murfill Waterproofing Coating is guaranteed to remain bone-dry.
  • 400% Elastic - The permanent elasticity protects your exterior wall optimally in all circumstances and prevents tears, flaking and blistering.
  • 10 Year Waterproof Guarantee*
  • Water vapour permeable - Murfill Waterproofing Coating allows the substrate to breathe at all times.
  • Crack bridging - Excellent resistance against ageing and contamination in all weather conditions and climates.
  • Protects reinforced concrete against carbonisation, penetration of chlorides and corrosion.
  • Colourfast - The unique Murfill formula means that even deep and dark colours are not affected by sunlight.
  • Water based - Low odour, minimal VOC's and environmentally friendly.
  • Can be combined with Murfill fleece for additional mechanical reinforcement and for bridging of (active) cracks.

Rust-Oleum Mathys Murfill Waterproofing Coating can be applied directly on old (sound) paintwork after thorough brushing down. Chalking paints or new/unpainted substrates must be treated first with Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS or with Mathys Pegafix, when the old paint coat (acrylic paint or Murfill Waterproofing Coating) is affected by the solvents of Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS. On smooth non-porous substrates apply a coat of Rust-Oleum Mathys Pegalink Universal Adhesion Primer or a coat of Rust-Oleum Mathys Noxyde (except for white) diluted with 25% water.

Questions

questions Ben griffiths  on 31/03/2018
Question:

We have recently purchased a new property with stand alone building built in 1990's - it has external concrete render which has never been painted for some reason. The interior walls have faint traces of damp after this recent wet weather - what is best - simple masonary paint or something stronger and more waterproofing. The render still looks in good condition.

Answer:

We would always recommend a high performance product like Rust-Oleum Mathys Murfill Waterproofing Coating. Once clean and dry the bare concrete render should first be primed with Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS before the application of Rust-Oleum Mathys Murfill Waterproofing Coating.

Question:

Hi I'm looking for a waterproof Paint or resin the building is already painted with a water based paint there is a lot of damp, so Im looking for a resin to put on then paint or a waterproof paint the colour is magnolia, the building is a old large Manor house could you help me please regards John

Answer:

Rust-Oleum Mathys Murfill Waterproofing Coating can be applied directly on old (sound) exterior wall paintwork after preparation. It is elastic, crack bridging and 100% waterproof but will still allow the wall to breathe outwards.

Question: I want to use Murfill but before I buy 16kg of it, do you do sample pots of the colours? As it may look completely different colour on walls than it does on computer image. Also I have cracked matt painted pebble dashed type render that is probably 1920's (Old) what would be the best primer to use before this? Thanks

Question: Can I use Murfil waterproof paint on interior shower walls?
Answer:

No.

questions Richard Ward on 11/06/2017
Question: I want to use Murfill on concrete as the previous paint has peeled off, what primer should I use, the site is exposed and near the coast.
Thank's
Answer:

New or unpainted porous substrates should be primed first with a coat of Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS or Mathys Pegafix.

questions Matt Stocker on 17/09/2016
Question: I can't find the details of how long I need to allow for the paint to dry before it is waterproof and safe to be rained on. Just trying to plan around the weather! Data sheet only mentions handling time and recoat time, but no mention of waterproof time. If you'd be able to let me know, that would be great.
Answer:

When the full specified system has been applied (usually 1 x primer and 2 x Murfill Waterproofing Coating) and the final paint layer has dried sufficiently as per the Product Data Sheet (usually 24 hours at 20°C) then the system will be providing waterproof protection of the building.

In good drying conditions (20°C/50% R.H.) then Murfill Waterproofing Coating should be 'rain proof' after 6 hours. Please note that fluctuations in weather/conditions/temperatures/etc. will affect these estimates greatly.
