Sika Water Seal is a solvent based, waterproofing water seal for masonry, to protect structures against rain, damp and frost.
On application, dependent upon the porosity of the material to be treated, it penetrates to a depth of 5mm, effectively repelling driving rain. Used to protect brick, stone, concrete and masonry against rainwater penetration.
Sika Water Seal is used to protect brick, stone, concrete and masonry against rainwater penetration. It is a solvent containing clear solution and does not change the aesthetic appearance of the substrate after treatment. On application, dependent upon the porosity of the material to be treated, it penetrates to a depth of 5mm, effectively repelling driving rain. The surface however is allowed to breathe, ensuring that previously absorbed moisture will evaporate and consequently allow the treated areas to dry out normally.
This treatment is known to be effective for up to 10 years, depending upon substrate, absorbency, application rate and position.
Application
The surface to be treated MUST be dry and ensure that masonry joints are sound and free from cracks. Apply by brush or low pressure spray at a rate of 2.5 – 4 metres / litre per coat.
Coverage
Coverage will be dependent upon the porosity of the surface being treated, but 2 coats are normally applied. A trial area is recommended to establish the exact consumption. Allow 6 hours drying time between coats.
