Description

Remmers Primer Hydro S HF (formerely Silicate Primer D) is an aqueous solution of hydrophobizing silicic acid compounds that is used as a water repelling primer and for slightly strengthening the surface of porous, light-coloured, cementitious building materials. Remmers Primer Hydro S HF is lime stable, i.e. cementitious building materials with a pH value of up to 12 can be effectively primed. Good penetration depth is achieved even on slightly damp substrates.

Due to its composition, Primer Hydro S HF reacts with the substrate and forms not only active hydrophobic substances but also solidifying products that slightly strengthen the surface without essentially influencing water vapour diffusion. A loss of energy is reduced due to a reduction in thermal conductivity.

Remmers Primer Hydro S HF is used for priming and strengthening the surface of porous, light-coloured, cementitious building materials. It is particularly suitable for sand-lime brick fair-faced masonry, cementitious renders and aerated concrete elements in outdoor areas. (It is not suitable for coloured clinker and brick or for re-priming building materials that have already been impregnated.)
