Product customisation
Don't forget to save your customization to be able to add to cartKeim Purkristalat is a two-component mineral paint system for coatings of highest durability and excellent colour brilliance. Keim Purkristalat consists of a fine colour powder component and a liquid waterglass component (Keim Fixativ) as binder.
Keim Purkristalat can be applied on mineral, porous, mechanically stable substrates, in particular render. The top render layer must have a minimum layer thickness of 5mm. Keim Purkristalat is particularly suited for restoring historic structures as well as application on to projects with a requirement for longevity and colour brilliance. Keim Purkristalat should not be used onto previously painted surfaces.
Keim Purkristalat Colour Powder: Pure mineral colour powder with light-fast and inorganic pigments and reactive mineral powders.
Keim Fixativ: Pure mineral, silicate binding agent for Keim Purkristalat (5kg colour powder and 4l Fixativ equates to approx. 10kg mixed paint).
- Dilution for mixed Keim Purkristalat
- Pre-treatment for highly absorbent substrates (diluted with water in ratio 1:1)

Preparation & Application
Substrate Preparation
Keim Purkristalat should not be used onto previously painted surfaces. If there are existing coatings these should be stripped prior to use of the Keim Purkristalat system.
Highly absorbing or sanding substrates should be pre-treated with Keim Fixativ, diluted 1:1 with water.
All loose, flaking and unstable material must be identified and then thoroughly removed, all surfaces must be thoroughly washed down with clean cold water to remove all surface dirt and dust.
When all surfaces are clean, sound, wind dry, dust free and free from all surface contaminants, decoration using Keim Purkristalat may proceed.
Application
Soaking: Soak 5kg of Keim Purkristalat powder in 4lt Keim Fixativ and stir until homogeneity (this mixture equates to approximately 10 kg of ready to use paint). Better homogeneity and higher yield (lower consumption) is achieved from preparing the material the day before.
First Coat: this basic mix is to be thinned with 2 to 6lt of Keim Fixativ depending on the absorption of the substrate. The first coat is to be brush applied. Keim Purkristalat should be applied keeping a wet edge, preferably by brush or low-pressure spraying. If necessary, the filling additive Keim Kristall Felsit may be added.
Second Coat: the undiluted basic mix should be applied in a like manner.
Application Conditions
Ambient and substrate temperature above 5°C and below 30°C. Do not apply in direct sunlight or onto sun-heated surfaces, nor if it is raining or if there is an immediate likelihood of rain.
Consumption
2-coat Keim Purkristalat application: Keim Purkristalat colour powder: 0.35 kg/m² Keim Fixativ: approximately 0.4lt/m² Consumption rates are offered for guideline purposes only and are quoted for smooth rendered surfaces. Actual rates are the responsibility of the applicator. Project specifications should be referred to for specific rates.
Post Application
Application of colourless water repellent Keim Lotexan is strongly recommended, after a minimum period of 8 days following application of Keim Purkristalat.
Cleaning of Tools
