![]() | Question:
with thermoguard wall coat can you achive 60min protection and how many coats would you need on exsiting plasterboard |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This kit will only achieve Class 0 level of fire protection. Assuming the substrate meets the minimum requirements, it is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the Technical data Sheet we can recommend Thermoguard Wallcoat 30 & 60 Minute System for Plasterboard. Building Control approval should be sought prior to purchase and application. 3 coats of Wallcoat and at least 1 coat of Topcoat would be required.
![]() | Question:
Is Thermoguard overpaintable with emulsion? I need to improve the rating of one area of ceiling and want it to look the same as the rest of the room. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Yes. Once the FULL Thermoguard system has been applied, this can be overcoated with your own water based emulsion as long as Thermoguard Flame Retardant Additive is added to your product of choice before use.
