Is Thermoguard overpaintable with emulsion? I need to improve the rating of one area of ceiling and want it to look the same as the rest of the room.
Yes. Once the FULL Thermoguard system has been applied, this can be overcoated with your own water based emulsion as long as Thermoguard Flame Retardant Additive is added to your product of choice before use.

Can Thermoguard wallcoat basecoat and smoke and flame retardant topcoat be applied to previously painted polystyrene ceiling tiles as a suitable intumescent application?
No, unfortunately we don't have a system for polystyrene ceiling tiles.

Question: Can Thermoguard wall coat be applied over existing paint, in this case matt white emulsion on intumescent plasterboard, just applied and now told we need fire retardant paint. Heritage train shed workshop. Thanks
Yes, Thermoguard Wallcoat can be applied over normal, decorative paints (not other fire retardants). Surfaces should be sound and firmly adhering, clean, dry and free of surface contamination. Remove loose, flaking or suspect paint film and adequately abrade existing smooth or hard coatings – abrasion not needed on Vinyl Matt.
