Astroflame Intumescent Fire Grille & Air Transfer Face Plate Kits consist of 1 x Astroflame Intumescent Fire Grille with 2 x Astroflame Air Transfer Face Plates in the appropriate size* which must be fitted to ensure the Grille complies with fire testing.

The kit is then easily mounted in solid timber fire doors & solid block walls, and can provide in excess of 1/2 or 1 hour fire protection.

Comprises of:

Astroflame Intumescent Fire Grilles

• Comprises of a intumescent core within a galvanized steel frame with vermin proof 6mm steel mesh fitted to both faces. A durable ventilation grille which is easily mounted in solid timber fire doors & solid block walls, and can provide in excess of 1/2 or 1 hour fire protection
• Suitable for fitting up to 1,000mm (1m) from floor level. The top of the grille should not be higher than 1000mm from the floor
• The design allows a free area of 80% approximately. See our Free Area table below for guidance

Astroflame Air Transfer Face Plates

• Mild steel louvered grilles designed to satisfy all types of air transfer application in offices, shops, schools, hospitals and many other commercial projects
• Suitable for internal, surface mounting on doors and walls. The steel construction ensures that the unit is satisfactory not only for Astroflame Intumescent Fire Grilles but can also be used in standard air transfer applications, utilised with the wide flange border providing adequate clearance for fixing to the surrounding structure
• Slimline and unobtrusive, the unit offers a free area around 66% for economical selection and is readily available in a wide variety of normal and reverse of list sizes. Standard finishes are Satin Aluminium. White finish or RAL colours available on request

• Supplied in matching sizes eg 100mm x 100m Grill is supplied with 2 x 100mm x 100mm Face Plates*

*PLEASE NOTE EXCEPTIONS:

Grilles with a 225mm dimension will be provided with 250mm plates.

Grilles with a 550mm dimension will be provided with 600mm plates.

• All square and rectangular grilles are available to suit 30 minute or 60 minute on previously fire rated applications
• Please note the fire grilles are tested with a Steel face Plate (Astro Plates) either side
• Free area table below is for the Fire Grille only at approx. 80%

Maximum single grille size is 600 x 600 mm or equivalent area.

Please note: All grilles are 42mm thick.

Line the aperture with Astro INTU Mastic and mechanically fix the Grille in place with steel screws in each corner and at 150mm centres both sides.

Calculations made using 80% (approx) free air flow. Please note that this table does not allow for the effects of fitting any of the Astroflame Steel Louvred Face Plates, or any other type of aesthetically pleasing cover over the fire grille.
