Coverage
A 10m² pack has sufficient Binder and Aggregate to treat up to 10m² of correctly prepared surface providing an approximate system thickness of 3 – 4mm
Surface Preparation
Concrete:
Concrete surfaces shall be sound, clean, and free from standing water, laitance oil, grease and other contaminants
Grinding or grit blasting are suitable mechanical means of removing laitance and contaminants and providing a profiled substrate
Tarmac:
New tarmac must be allowed to weather until all residual oils have been oxidised or been removed.
Thoroughly wash to remove contaminants and allow to dry
Asphalt:
Wash thoroughly to remove all contaminants and allow to dry
Priming:
Priming is not usually required
Mixing (Binder):
Mix equal volumes of base and curing agent
Thoroughly mix by slow speed mechanical stirrer (drill plus paddle attachment) until a uniform consistency has been achieved
Mixing Ratio:
By Volume - 1 Base : 1 Curing Agent
By Weight - 100 Base : 100 Curing Agent
Application
Apply the mixed binder resin by roller, serrated trowel, or squeegee at a nominal rate of 0.5-3mm (the application rate will depend on the size of aggregate to be broadcast)
Whilst the binder resin remains wet, broadcast the selected aggregate to achieve a full 'blinding' i.e. leave no resin visible
The following day thoroughly sweep off any excess aggregate using a stiff bristled broom
Cleaning
Clean equipment with 109 Tool Cleaner prior to curing of the coating
Curing
Allow the finished system to cure for a minimum of 24 hours @ 20°C prior to foot traffic, and 48 hours @ 20°C prior to vehicular traffic
Limitations
Do not apply to wet or uncured concrete surfaces
Do not apply at temperatures of 3°C or less
Do not apply to new, un-weathered tarmac or asphalt surfaces
Storage & Shelf Life
Store in dry conditions, out of direct sunlight, at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C
Do not expose to freezing conditions
506 Anti Slip Dressing has a minimum shelf life of 12 months when stored in original, unopened containers in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
Health & Safety
Avoid contact of the material with skin and eyes
Wear gloves and goggles
Wash off splashes immediately with soap and water
Any eye contamination must be rapidly irrigated with copious amounts of clean water, and immediate medical attention sought
506 Anti Slip Dressing shall be applied strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions

Question:
We have a concrete yard which for drainage purposes has some very gently sloping areas. Our dogs use the yard. Is the coating very rough and scratchy? Does the product give off harmful emissions in hot weather, for example? In order to clean where our dogs use the yard for business we use hot water and sometimes bleach on tough dirty spots. Does the product withstand hot water and bleach? If not, what other cleaning methods could be used?
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product provides an anti-slip surface but is not very rough, it has the appearance of a loose aggregate.
This is a low odour product during application and will not produxce odours once cured.
It also has good chemical resistance.

Question:
Will this product level out minor rippling on a concrete surface and cover construction joints in the site cast concrete ground?
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
506 Anti Slip Dressing is a thick system so it should mask minor finishing marks in concrete. Covering construction joints shouldn’t be a problem either as the material has a good amount of flexibility. That being said, if there is considerable movement along the joints this may cause cracks to appear in the surface.

Question:
What thickness is recommended ?
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
10m² packs include 15kg of binder resin with hardener which must not be spread further than 10m² and 50kg of 1-3mm Chinese Bauxite Aggregate to broadcast over the wet resin.
