Preparation

For concrete and other absorbent mineral substrates which are dry, free of contamination, dust and efflorescence. Not suitable for applying over existing floor paint systems. Consult specific product datasheet for subsequent Bradite floor coating finish for additional information. Always refer to the Health and Safety sheet for the product before use and observe the warning phrases on the label.

Floor Preparation

New concrete should be allowed to dry for at least 28 days prior to painting. Moisture content of floor may be checked by placing a secured sheet of plastic on the floor for 24 hours and then examining for any signs of condensation. Appearance of condensation indicates concrete is not sufficiently dry to allow painting. Existing coatings must be completely removed. For best performance, complete vacuum blast cleaning of the substrate is recommended. Bradite TD39 industrial strength detergent washing and rinsing should be used with scrubbing, if necessary, to remove grease or oil.

Mixing Instructions

  1. Pour complete contents of activator can into the base can.
  2. Mix thoroughly to an even cream colour and consistency (Use a cordless power drill, with paint paddle attachment, for best results).
  3. With mixing, add 1000ml of clean tap water.

Painting System

1st coat Bradite Floor Primer ES40 Subsequent coats will be dependent upon the desired Bradite floor coating system. Bradite Floor Primer may be slightly tacky underfoot when applying finishing system. Please consult specific floor finishing product datasheet for further system details. The end user and applicator must ensure that the finished floor is safe against slips in all likely usage conditions.

Application

Material must be thinned (see specific mixing information below) prior to application on new or uncoated concrete to enable penetration and binding of substrate. Application and use should always conform to the codes of practice described in BS 6150 and BS 5493.

Brush and Roller: On smooth substrates, the use of a suitably sized foam or short pile roller is highly recommended.

Conventional Air & Airless Spraying: Not recommended.

Clean all equipment immediately after use with clean tap water for best results.
