Lacq Floor Varnish X10 is a 1K polyurethane, clear, transparent sealer based on modified vegetable oil that dries to a gloss after more than two to three layers have been applied.

Lacq Floor Varnish X10 seals concrete floors with a transparent layer, preventing the dusting caused by the wear and tear of untreated concrete floors. Protects and extends the life of your concrete floor.

The transparent layer stops liquid and dirt being absorbed so that your floor is less susceptible to marking. Suitable for concrete floors, wood floors, cement floors, porous tiles, garages and kitchens.

Concrete floors are easy to keep clean after curing with a vacuum cleaner and mop.

Substrate Requirements

Application Conditions:

• Concrete or cement moisture content: maximum 4%
• Wood moisture content: maximum 18%
• Application temperature: at least 5°C

Surface Preparation:

• Concrete and cement floors should be at least six weeks old before starting the treatment
• The moisture content of concrete and cement flooring can be tested by taping down plastic film onto several 1m² sections to create an airtight seal. The plastic film and the floor should still be dry after 48 hours
• If this is the case, the floor can be treated. Substrate moisture may negatively affect coating adhesion
• If the floor has been finished with a curing compound, this should always be sand blasted prior to treatment
• The surface must be clean, dry, smooth and structurally sound
• Remove dirt, dust and wax by cleaning with water and a suitable cleaning agent, according to the instructions
• Concrete and cement floors that have already been treated with Floor Varnish X10 should be cleaned with water and the appropriate cleaning agent. Then sand the floor thoroughly
• Now, rinse the floor with clean water, remove the residue with a water vacuum cleaner and leave to dry
• Very smooth concrete and cement floors should be etched first, according to the instructions
• Smooth concrete floors should preferably be dust-free blasted or polished with diamond surface grinders
• Smooth (sand) cement flooring must be sanded
• After sanding, use an appropriate vacuum cleaner to remove all sanding dust

Wood:

• Approximately 13m² per litre

Concrete and Cement:

• Approximately 10m² per litre

Note: This coverage is indicative. Results are highly dependent on the absorbency of the substrate.

Concrete and Cement Floors:

• Dilute the first layer of Floor Varnish X10 with 20-40% white spirit, depending on the absorbency of the concrete
• Dilute the second and, possibly, third layer with approximately 10% white spirit
• For extremely smooth and non-porous concrete surfaces like stelcon slabs, dilute with 60% white spirit
• The layer thickness is built up sufficiently as soon as the Floor Varnish X10 produces a smooth gloss, after which another 1 or 2 layers can be applied as desired (avoid applying layers too thickly)

Wooden Floors:

• Depending on the hardness of the floor, dilute the first layer of Floor Varnish X10 with 20-50% white spirit
• Dilute the second and, possibly, third layer with approximately 10% white spirit
• As soon as the Floor Varnish X10 produces an even gloss, the build-up of the layer is sufficient and another 1 to 2 layers can be applied, as desired (avoid applying layers too thickly)

Porous Tiles:

• Apply Floor Varnish X10 in two to three layers, diluting them with 60%, 40% and 20% white spirit, respectively
• The harder the tile, the higher the dilution percentage
• As soon as the Floor Varnish X10 produces an even gloss, the build-up of the layer is sufficient and another 1 to 2 layers can be applied, as desired (avoid applying layers too thickly)
