Developed with industrial and showroom floors in mind, where a hard-wearing epoxy coating is required, this primer will form the perfect base in which to apply the coloured topcoat. Britannia Epoxy Floor Primer will make light work of hard porous floor surfaces, allowing for much better adhesion.
Ideal for environments that need a dust-free hard-wearing surface to withstand high footfall, such as:
- Car showrooms.
- Factories, including the use of forklift trucks.
- R&D workshops.
- Educational establishments.
Product Use in the Workplace
- Workshops - A hard-wearing and protective floor is one of the requirements of workshops of all types.
- Food manufacturing plant - Be it a sandwich production line, meat processing plant or a frozen food manufacturer, the production of food stuffs must be done in such a way that external contaminants are prevented rather than extinguished. Prevention is better than cure as they say. Protecting floors from contamination from fungus and bacteria is definitely a must for all food preparation environments.
Features & Benefits
- Easy application.
- Good “wetting out” and penetration properties.
- Cures very well at low temperatures.
- 12-month shelf life.
New Concrete Floors
New Concrete must be at least 4 weeks old before considering coating the substrate or moisture less than 5%. The substrate should be clean, free from latience removed preferably by techniques which should include (depending on the degree of contamination) acid etching, light mechanical scrabbling, blasting, grinding or degreasing.
Existing Concrete Floors
Remove all dirt, oil, grease or other surface contaminants by enclosed shot blasting, scarification or mechanical grinding. Fats, oils or greases must be removed by mechanical means and detergent washing.
Store between 15-25°C for at least 8 hours before use. The ambient temperatures of the areas should not be allowed to fall below 10°C throughout the application and curing period. Surface temperatures must be above 5°C, in cases where the temperature is higher than 30°C, the surface should be dampened with water. Apply by brush or short-medium pile roller ensuring the product is well worked into the surface.
It is your responsibility to read the Product Data Sheets (available below) before you place an order and prior to application of the product. The content of this website is our best recommendation and is not advice. Coverage rates quoted are approximate, you agree that coverage depends on the condition of the substrate, surface absorption, texture and application method. We ALWAYS recommend a trial area is coated to ensure the product meets your requirements before use.
- Brush, Roller
- 5Kg Composite Pack covers 20-30m2 per coat (0.17 - 0.25Kg/m2 per coat). One coat is generally sufficient.
- Touch Dry
- Touch dry after 4 hours at 20°C. Through dry after 8 hours at 20°C. Recommended over coating after 12-18 hours.
