702 MMA Flexible Floor Coating is a two pack, fast curing flexible coating usually for Tarmac and Asphalt surfaces. Concrete surfaces may also be treated, following suitable preparation and priming. Ideal for use on surfaces such as parking bays, ramps, cycle paths, driveways, steps, etc.

ColourPicker Explained

In general we sort colours for products into 2 main groups - ‘Ready Mixed’ and ‘Tinted’.
Tinted colours will always be more expensive than Ready Mixed colours as they need to be produced at the time of order using a tinting machine dispensing colourant into a base*.
During busy periods, this means that tinted colours could take longer, for example – a ready mixed colour ordered on a 3-5 day delivery might arrive within 3 days, however a tinted colour might take the full 5 days to arrive.

To find Ready Mixed colours, search "ready mixed" or select the Ready Mixed 'colour chart'. To see Tinted colours select a colour chart such as RAL, BS, NCS, etc. or search for a colour/hue to see available or related options.

To ensure fair pricing, we split colours into ‘Price Bands’ to group together similar priced colours. If you wish to search for the cheapest tinted colours, always select Price Band 1.

*Colours are sold in the nearest tin size but actual paint volume per tin may vary up to 10% depending on colour

Colour reproduction of the Products on the Site is limited by the technology used to deliver web pages and by the colour representation of Customer’s own monitor and computer set-up. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our Products but we cannot guarantee that the colour shown on Customer’s monitor’s display will accurately reflect the colour of the Product on delivery. We recommend that Customer first purchases the smallest Product available or access an industry standard colour chart in person (and not digitally) to ensure that the colour is acceptable for its purposes.

702 MMA Flexible Floor Coating is designed to provide a dust free, seamless floor finish with protective and decorative properties and allows a fast return to service.

Slip resistance properties may be enhanced by the incorporation of 504 Standard Anti Slip Aggregate.

Coverage

A 10kg pack will be sufficient to coat an area of 10m² at a rate of 1kg/m²

Surface Preparation

Asphalt and Tarmac surfaces must be clean, dry and free from contaminants
New Asphalt and Tarmac must be allowed to ‘weather’ to ensure any excess oils are released
Mechanical preparation is not normally necessary, however vacuum shot blasting can be employed to clean the surface should this be required, and will provide a better mechanical ‘key’ in heavy duty environments

Priming:

No primer required for Asphalt and Tarmac surfaces
Prime using 706 MMA Floor Primer on concrete (please refer to 706 MMA Floor Primer data sheet)
Damp concrete surfaces can be primed using 709 MMA Damp Proof Primer – refer to product data sheet for full details
Steel surfaces can be primed using 707 MMA Metal Primer – refer to product data sheet for full details

Mixing:

702 MMA Flexible Floor Coating is supplied as a two pack material consisting of the resin component, and the catalyst component
Incorporate the catalyst component under mechanical stirring and mix for 1-2 minutes

Mixing Ratio:

(% Catalyst by Weight) = 2

Application

Apply 702 MMA Flexible Floor Coating using short nap perlon or smooth lambswool rollers at a nominal rate of 0.4 – 1.0kg/m² depending on substrate profile and desired thickness
Should a slip resistant finish be required then broadcast 504 Standard Anti Slip Aggregate onto the first coat within 10 minutes of application
Following a minimum of 1 hour, sweep off excess aggregate, and apply a second coat of 702 MMA Flexible Floor Coating.

Cleaning

Clean equipment with 109 Tool Cleaner immediately after use

Curing

Light Foot Traffic: 2 hours @ 20°C
Full chemical resistance: 24 hours @ 20°C

Limitations

Do not apply to damp substrates

702 MMA Flexible Floor Coating will taint food during application, so that all foodstuffs in the immediate vicinity must be removed or properly covered

Storage & Shelf Life

Store in dry conditions, out of direct sunlight, at temperatures between 10°C and 20°C
Adequate ventilation of the storage area should be provided
Keep container tightly closed when not in use
702 MMA Flexible Floor Coating has a minimum shelf life of six months when stored in original, unopened containers in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions

Health & Safety

702 MMA Flexible Floor Coating flammable during application, so adequate safety precautions should be observed.

Avoid contact of the material with skin and eyes
Wear gloves and goggles
Wash off splashes immediately with soap and water
Any eye contamination must be rapidly irrigated with copious amounts of clean water, and immediate medical attention sought
