Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint is a premium quality acrylic paint with very low odour levels and maximum thermal insulation performance that is perfect for all interior walls and ceilings and provides a U-value improvement of 0.25 W/m2K. Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint is the best painting and decorating option when fighting condensation problems including mould, blistering paint, discolouration, staining and peeling wallpaper. With just 2 coats, Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint provides thermal insulation and long lasting mould resistance that protects from continuous and severe condensation. It can be used both as a wall paint and a ceiling paint in kitchens and bathrooms in homes, hotels, schools, universities, restaurants, service stations, gyms, swimming pools and spas.
Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint covers up to 3.5m² per litre with the recommended minimum of two coats. It is easily applied by brush, roller or spray. Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint has a distinct energy-saving advantage and has been scientifically proven to work. A minimum of two coats are recommended for interior walls to achieve maximum thermal insulation and three coats for exterior walls. You can wallpaper over Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint and it will continue to work, a 5L will cover up to 17m² with 2 coats.
Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint qualities are not diminished when painted on top of lining paper, wallpaper already painted with another emulsion and non-blown vinyl wallpapers. It should not however be applied to “blown vinyl” wallpapers which absorb the paint and leave the insulating micro technology as a residue which will later become dispersed. New plaster should be sealed with an adequate primer/sealer prior to application of Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint.

Hi I am looking to buy this thermolite insopaint anti condensation. But I have heard conflicting views on wether when applied the type of finish, I am looking for a smooth finish but heard this finish is rough like sandpaper. What would be your opinion?
We wouldn't say it had a finish like sandpaper but the finished paint surface will have a slight texture to it due to the thermal additive the paint contains.

Can this paint be used on metal - and if so what if any undercoat do you recommend?
No but Coo-Var Anti-Condensation Paint is a water based product that has been developed for application to walls and ceilings to help prevent condensation forming on the surface. For application to metal the surface needs to be primed first with an anti-corrosive metal primer such as Coo-Var Water Based All Metals Primer then followed by 2 coats of Coo-Var Anti-Condensation Paint. If the metal is insulated, then taping up the seams will probably be more effective.

Question: I have two questions please.
1- Can I use this directly on exposed plaster (I've already sanded off some old paint which had been affected by mould - condensation related rather than damp I believe)?
2- Does this product contain any anti-mould chemicals to stop mould growing, or is it just designed to prevent condensation?
New plaster should be sealed with an adequate primer/sealer prior to application of Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint. The paint is designed to help prevent condensation forming on the surface which in turn should inhibit mould growth but if you wish to have an active fungicidal finish you should overcoat with Zinsser Perma-White Interior.

Question: Is this paint suitable for a galvanised steel garage roof?
Assuming you wish to use this product on the interior, underside of the roof then it can be applied to galvanised steel as long as you first prime with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3.
Clean the galvanised surfaces down with Methylated Spirits, apply 1 coat of Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 followed by Thermilate InsOpaint Anti-Condensation Paint as required.
