Help!!! My house was built in 1850s, and has, presumably a single skin, exposed red brick work between us and next door. They are reclusive HEAVY smokers, 1 works nights, other never leaves the house, as a result I can smell their smoke in my home. I'm thinking if I seal these two walls somehow (either side of chimney breast) it will help. But I have no idea where to start as everything I look at says "breatheable" is this something that will totally miss the point that I am trying to achieve?
Zinsser B-I-N will seal the surface and should block odours, 2 coats would be recommended to ensure surfaces are well treated. Zinsser B-I-N is a white primer, we assume the brick has been painted before. You should also be aware of the following, B-I-N would not be classed as a breathable coating. As this is an old property where breathable paints are generally specified we could not be sure the B-I-N will be OK to use however it is an internal wall so this may be less of an issue.

Can I use this sealer on old London stock bricks behind/around my cooker? It will be sitting in an old fireplace. Will it protect the bricks against grease splashes?
Bedec Stone & Brick Sealer can be used on old London stock bricks however being close to a heat source slight yellowing may occur. It will protect them from grease splashes, you should be able to wash off the grease.

Question: Hello i want to seal a natural stone wall in a shower room, is this the right sealant for the job? or is quick dry varnish better, thanks
As long as Bedec Stone & Brick Sealer is used on areas not subject to water contact (i.e. in the shower, on the floor, etc.) and the bathroom is well ventilated the product should be fine. If the environment gets too damp it may go cloudy and will then go clear again as the room dries out.

Question: I want my London stock bricks to remain the same shade, will this product darken the existing brick colour?
Will it change there appearance at all, as they are internal walls and i want to keep the natural look of the yellow bricks.
Bedec Stone & Brick Sealer intended to minimise any change in appearance after application. It is a penetrative sealer that shouldn't leave any sheen or sign of colour change after use. We would always recommend a small sample area is tested prior to use to ensure you are happy with the results. It is best applied un-diluted in two coats, wet on wet. Work from the bottom upwards.

Question: I want a glossy finish to my brick wall in my conservatory, will this product give this finish?
No, Bedec Stone & Brick Sealer is designed for use on porous brickwork that requires sealing to prevent 'dusting' and works by penetrating into the surface leaving a nearly invisible finish. For a glossy finish we recommend using Blackfriar Quick Drying Varnish, this is available as clear in matt, satin and gloss finishes and works really well as an interior brick sealer. Apply two coats, thinning the first down with 10-15% water.
