Nu-Steel Zinc Rich Primer has been specifically-formulated to prime mild steel surfaces to prepare it for overcoating with the finish of your choosing. Steel with low carbon is termed as mild steel, and such uses of this type of steel include: signs, furniture, fencing, cars and structural steel.

Nu-Steel High Build Zinc Rich Primer is high quality brushing primer for interior and exterior use giving good adhesion to mild steel surfaces, prior to overcoating with the appropriate finish. Steel with low carbon is termed as mild steel, such as signs, furniture, fencing, cars and structural steel.

Product Use in the Workplace

  • Fencing - In towns and cities, fences need to look the part - colourful, durable and safe. Fencing is usually made with mild steel, which is low in carbon, and imagine you want to paint it blue; first, it will be best to apply this primer. This will allow the overcoat to adhere properly to the fencing, proving the full protection needed.
  • Furniture repair shop - Being responsible for repairing furniture is not just about screws, washers and wood varnish. It's also about furniture made of metalwork, and you will need the right primers and coatings for all furniture types. This specific formula is ideal for furnishings made of mild steel.

For use on properly prepared steel such as parapet/guard rails and architectural steelwork. Ensure surfaces to be treated are clean, free from contamination and dry. Conventional degreasing methods may be employed by using MC1 Multi Clean.


By brush/roller or spray. Should not be applied at temperatures below 5ºC or when the relative humidity exceeds 85%. All equipment should be cleaned with T2 Thinners. Conventional thinners and brush cleaners are not effective.

Store away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Protect from frost.
