    Question:

Is this primer suitable for steel radiators?

    Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

    Thank you for your enquiry.

This primer is generally used for application to vehicle bodywork, however assuming the radiator is steel that is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical datasheet, you can apply to a radiator, however we would recommend to apply to a small test area firstly to check for comaptibility.

    Question:

Hi. I have found a cast iron hopper dated 1867…! Found it in my local woods. I have wire brushed it down to remove as much rust as possible and is now looking good. Am thinking of applying Bonda primer. Would this work on cast iron. How much do you think I would need. Thinking of just 1 litre tin. Thanks fir your advice.

    Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Assuming the hopper is clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet with as much of the rust removed as possible this could be applied.

The coverage rate for this product is 7m² per litre per coat.

    Question:

I intend to use Bona Primer as a primer on a Land Rover chassis. In places the chassis is quite rusty and I had intended to first treat that rust with a rust converter such as Ku Rust. I have read somewhere that Bona Primer should be applied direct to the rust and that rust converters should not be used. Is this correct? Many thanks.

    Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Bonda Rust Primer can be applied directly to rust, but that said the rust should be (mechanically) removed/reduced to present as a flat a surface as possible for priming.

We would not recommend the use of a rust converter with this product.
