Description
Selemix 5-8070 2K WB Polyurethane Primer is a two-component waterborne polyurethane light grey primer designed for protection of steel, aluminium and galvanised steel surfaces with full waterborne paint systems.
It is fast drying and easy to apply. It is suitable for use with Selemix waterborne or solventborne 2-pack topcoats, and can be used with the same hardeners as 8-110/8-111 Topcoat.
It is recommended for use on industrial and agricultural equipment and machinery where a durable, low VOC or waterborne product is required.
This product MUST be purchased/used in conjunction with its manufacturer specified base or activator/hardener. This product can be purchased as a Base or Hardener separately only - please see the drop down menu above.
Compatible Hardeners:
- 9-574 (Medium Hardener): Suitable from 15°C to 35°C (Large surfaces)
- 9-572 (Slow Hardener): Suitable from 35°C to 45°C (Large Surfaces)
- 9-110 (Medium Hardener for Acrylic): Suitable from 15°C to 25°C (Low VOC)
- 9-125 (Fast Curing Hardener for Acrylic): Suitable from 15°C to 25°C (Low VOC)

Surface Preparation
Apply only on a clean and dry surface with a temperature above the dew point to avoid condensation. In confined spaces, provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.
Steel:
- Machine sand with P80-120 discs and degrease
Galvanised Steel:
- Abrade with SCOTCHBRITE® and degrease
Aluminium:
- Machine sand with P240-320 discs and degrease
GRP:
- Machine sand with P240 discs and degrease
Painted Surfaces:
- Machine sand with P240-320 discs and degrease
Mixing
- Thoroughly mix paint before activating and check colour before use
- This product MUST be purchased/used in conjunction with its manufacturer specified base or activator/hardener - Available as a Base or Hardener separately only
