Description

Blackfriar Enamel Paint is an easy to use, tough, hardwearing gloss enamel finish. Suitable for use on wood, metal and plaster. Ideal for use on garden tools, plaques, models and all those small jobs.

Preparation

Ensure the surface to be painted is clean, dry, and free from any rust, oils, wax or any other surface contamination. Remove any loose or flaking paint back to a firm edge, abrade any existing coating to provide a key. Rusty metals should be wire-brushed to a clean bright surface and primed immediately with Blackfriar Anti-Rust Primer.

Galvanized metal should be degreased and primed with Blackfriar Multi-Surface Primer.

New and bare surfaces should be primed with an appropriate primer such as Blackfriar Multi-Surface Primer.

Application

Stir thoroughly prior to use. The product may be applied by brush, roller or spray. Two coats are recommended to give best protection.

Thinning

Not recommended.

Limitations

Do not use under cold (less than 5°C), damp or humid conditions. Blackfriar Enamel Paint is not resistant to petrol or fuel oil (use Blackfriar Quick Drying Metal Paint). Not suitable for direct application to galvanised metal, use Blackfriar Multi-Surface Primer first.

Drying Time

Touch dry in 4-6 hours. Recoat after 12 hours and within 3 days. Drying times are based on an ambient temperature of 20°C and 50% relative humidity. Lower temperatures or higher humidity will prolong the drying and overcoating times.

Clean Up

Remove as much product as possible from application equipment before washing with white spirit. Do not empty into drains or water courses. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste coatings.

Storage

Store in a dry, safe place. Do not store in environments where extreme temperatures may occur. Keep within 5-30°C. Do not store in direct sunlight.

questions Jcarrie on 2018-06-19 18:00:53
Question:

Is this paint suitable for metal bath.

Answer:

Blackfriar Enamel Paint would be suitable to paint the outside of the bath tub (i.e. any areas not in contact/holding water), if you wish to paint the inside of the bath tub where water is held you would need to instead use Rust-Oleum Tub & Tile Refinishing Kit.
