AllCoat Commercial (Water-Based) is a great underbody for enamel topcoats, it resists grain rise allowing a smooth flow that levels evenly. It can be sanded down to a crisp powder within 1 hour. Zinsser AllCoat (Water Based) is ideal for large commercial wall and ceiling applications as it is self sealing and dries with very low odour. It is ideally suited to spray application and is widely used to refurbish suspended ceiling tiles and frames in environments such as supermarkets and car showrooms.

Hi, I am painting the interior of a garage which is finished to a second coat of plaster (a floating/levelling coat, not a setting/finishing/skim coat). I'm planning to use Zinsser AllCoat Water Based paint for this. Please can you tell me the coverage per litre that I can expect for this surface? Thanks!

Question:
I have walls previously painted with Zinder interior. In places where the paint has been removed I am finding it hard to sand the edge of the previously applied paint. It seems to lift slightly and resist so I just sand away the non Zinsser area if you see what I mean! Any suggestions welcomed!

Assuming the previously painted areas are clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet you could consider Zinsser Peel Stop.
This can be used on problem areas that exhibit chalking, alligatoring, cracking, flaking, and peeling.
This penetrates and binds chalky residues, seals cracked or crazed surfaces providing a sound surface for primer and paint.
It seeps into cracks and gaps under the edges of old paint and "glues" them down to prevent future peeling

Question:
What is the best product and finish for spray painting internal UPVC windows, and what size tin would I need for approx 12 average size windows.
This is available in matt, satin or gloss in many Ral and BS colours.
If you require a matt finish you will need to prime with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 prior to application.
Coverage is 12m² per litre per coat.

I'm looking for an interior paint to use on wooden clad ceilings, doors, balustrades and furniture all varnished and in good state, But I would prefer not to have to sand as it is a lot of surface to cover. It appears these multi surface paints may be the answer but I would appreciate your advice on whether the Zinsser Perma or this one would be better; although the house is not prone to mould. I am also just a bit unclear about the meaning of why this paint may need to be sanded off for a better finish? Many thanks Kind regards

We would always prime interior varnished surfaces with Zinsser B-I-N before applying Zinsser Perma-White or Zinsser AllCoat Exterior. Both are fine to go over Zinsser B-I-N. We're unsure where you have got the information on sanding the paint off to get a better finish, but you do not need to sand between coats when using the Zinsser products discussed.

Would this seal a mahogany unit without the usual red bleed?
If a water based stain block is required you could try Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Plus, it may need several coats allowing a good few hours between each coat. Zinsser B-I-N or Zinsser Cover Stain however would always be more effective.

Does Zinsser AllCoat (Water Based) prime and finish as a topcoat to woodwork.

Yes it does but it is a matt finish. Usually woodwork is required in a satin or semi-gloss finish, if this is the case then Zinsser Perma-White would be a better option. There is an Interior and Exterior grade available.
