  • Gloss Level: Gloss
  • Gloss level at 60º: Glossy: > 80%

Theoretical Consumption

  • Very porous substrates (concrete, bricks): 5 - 10 m²/l.
  • Little porous substrates (plaster, porous paints for inside use): 15 - 20 m²/l

Practical Consumption

Practical coverage depends on many factors such as porosity and roughness of the substrate and material losses during application.

Surface Preparation

Remove dust and / or clean carefully. Blistering plaster has to be sanded slightly to ensure a good adhesion or an adhesion test has to be done in advance.

Directions For Use

To ensure homogeneity, coating materials should be thoroughly stirred prior to use

Application Conditions

> 5°C, < 90% R.H.

Application Methods

  • Brush: Apply undiluted.
  • Roller: Apply undiluted.
  • Airless Spray: Nozzle: 11 - 15 / Pressure: 200 bars.
  • Air-Atomised Spray: Apply undiluted.

Remarks

On low porosity substrates, Pegafix is preferred above Parafix and Porisol because of its better penetration characteristics. Possible dried spots (on windows, floors, etc.) can be removed with Thinner 22. When using on chalking substrates, always test for fixing suitability.

questions David Hutt on 2023-04-25 12:53:48
Question:

Hi. Two questions - 1) do you recommend 2 coats of Pegafix on a rendered exterior wall where the previous paint has largely flaked off? 2) What is the mxximum time I can leave the wall after applying Pegafix before applying Mathys Murfill? I ask this because I am dodging the showers, and there may be some days after I've primed the wall before I can apply the Mathys Murfill. Thanks, David.

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Before application we would recommend all loose and flaking material is removed back to a clean, dry, sound surface.

If this is back to bare cement render this should be primed with either Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS or Mathys Pegafix.

Mathys Pegafix can also be used prior to application of Rust-Oleum Mathys Murfill Renovation Paint to chalking paints.

Mathys Pegafix is dry to recoat in 2 to 4 hours and fully cured in 24hours at 20°C this should be overpainted before it is fully cured.
