The dry film only fully cures after heating, slowly, to above 220°C for 20 to 30 minutes. Unless fully cured the film remains thermoplastic and sensitive to some solvents. The film may be cured in-service, some fume and light smoke generation is assosiated with the initial cure.
The practical spreading rate may be lower as this depends on factors such as the porosity and roughness of the surface to be painted and material losses during application.

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: No, but you could use the following system over aluminium; Surface preparation: Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from metal corrosion products prior to application. Light sweep with non-metallic and chloride free abrasive (e.g. aluminium oxide or garnet) to obtain anchor profile of approximately 50 microns.
Alternatively, some sort of insulation material may also work. | |
