Coo-Var GP101 Graffiti & Flyposting Protection System is a single pack, revolutionary, clear coating which offers long term protection against both graffiti and flyposters. Due to how fast drying the product is, it allows two coats to be applied in one day. This means less time on application and reduces the chances of graffiti attack between coats which can be a serious issue for other slower drying systems.
Coo-Var GP101 Graffiti & Flyposting Protection System allows all types of graffiti attack to be removed using only soapy water. This means whenever graffiti occurs, it can be removed quickly and safely by anyone, no special skills or equipment is needed and no harmful, strong solvents or cleaners are required.
Remove existing graffiti with dedicated graffiti removal agents where required. Ensure that the underlying surface is free of any residue from graffiti removal agents. The surface must be clean, sound and free of any dust, dirt, oil and grease. If necessary wash the surface with high pressure water and allow to dry. Adhesion should be checked over all surfaces as follows to ensure suitability of GP101.
Dab GP101 with a small rag onto a small area of the surface (5-10cm² is sufficient) and allow to dry overnight. For signage and murals, after sufficient dry time has elapsed, rub firmly across the test area with finger for loss of adhesion. For other painted surfaces, rub firmly with a rag soaked with Thinners 14, then rub the surface by hand. If there is no evidence of GP101 peeling off the surface is compatible.
Mixing Instructions
Stir well before use and use manageable quantities. Pour a small quantity into roller tray or spray unit as required. Then reseal the container immediately. GP101 has a pot life of approximately two hours when exposed to the elements, which can vary depending on the ambient
conditions.
Application Conditions
As dictated by normal good painting practice. In confined spaces, provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.
Preceding Coat
Coo-Var Anti-Graffiti Sealer Coat on porous and natural surfaces such as sandstone. Apply directy to non porous brick work and masonry.

I will be using water based masonry paint to create the mural and I am required to coat it with an anti-graffiti coating. I have been looking at Coo-Var GP101 Graffiti & Flyposting Protection System - I wanted to ask if this would be suitable to use over a painted mural, and if so, would an initial sealer coat be required or would I be able to use the Graffiti and Flyposting Protection alone? Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Assuming the previously painted wall is fully cured, clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet this could be used. We would recommend a test for compatibility and adhesion is undertaken prior to full application. The Coo-Var Anti-Graffiti Sealer Coat is only required on porous substrates such as sandstone. | |
