Recommended for areas subject to extreme chemical exposure and mechanical wear and where future maintenance is challenging.

    Features & Benefits

    • Chemical and acid resistant
    • Rapid cure
    • Ultra high build range up to 600–750μm per coat
    • 1–2 coat system
    • Resistant against crude oil up to 90°C
    • Temperature resistance 85°C in seawater

Specifically designed for lasting, economical protection of storage tanks

questions Michael Squirrell on 2017-05-08 12:36:23
    Question:

Hello, I’m a project engineer working within the nuclear industry. Just an enquiry regarding this product that may be suitable for coating a mild steel ladder that is required to be used within a radioactive pond that also has acids and caustic within the water. Is Jotum Chemflake coating a product that would be suitable for these environments?

The Chemical parameter values for Sizewell A ponds over last 12 months were:

    pH (at 25°C):       10.5 – 11
    sodium hydroxide: 10–40mg/litre (ppm)
    sodium carbonate: 40–100mg/litre
    chloride & sulphate: < 0.1mg/litre
    silica:                      < 0.2mg/litre

    Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

We would instead advise Tankguard Storage - 2 x 150 microns DFT applied to an Sa 2.5 abrasive blasted surface and when full cured would suit. Maximum liquid temperature would be +40 deg C.
