Illbruck PU230 Rapid Adhesive is a thixotropic polyurethane paste adhesive. Applications include: fixing and bonding of windows, doors, staircases architrave’s, boat building, fixing of carpet grippers to concrete and wooden floors, etc. The adhesive is highly water-resistant and can be used in applications where regular wetting and/or high humidity is anticipated.

Illbruck PU230 Rapid Adhesive cures rapidly to form an exceptionally strong water resistant bond. It is ideal for use in all types of joinery, construction and repair applications where a permanent bond is required.

Features & Benefits

• Highly water-resistant
• Suitable for external use - meets the requirements of EN 204 (D4)
• Forms an exceptionally high bond strength to most building materials, even damp substrates
• Rapid curing formulation bonds in as little as 5 minutes
• Gap filling action achieves a high strength bond with irregular or uneven substrates
• Rapid curing and outstanding bond strength without the need for priming or surface treatment

Typical Properties

Coverage

• 250-400ml per m² depending on the substrate

Surface Preparation

• Always carry out a test to confirm compatibility prior to use
• All surfaces to be bonded must be close fitting, degreased, clean and free from dust and any other contamination
• Dampening the surfaces to be bonded with a moist cloth or spray can increase the rate of cure
• Roughen the non-porous surfaces

Application

• Use in well ventilated conditions and ensure all recommended protective equipment is worn during handling and use of this product.

• Cut off the end of the thread with a sharp knife, avoiding damage to the thread
• Trim the nozzle to the required diameter
• Ensure good contact between the joint surfaces before applying adhesive
• Apply the adhesive to one or both surfaces and spread quickly using a notched spreader
• Bring the two components together within 2 minutes and clamp securely together for at least 30 minutes until sufficient bond strength has developed
• Sufficient working strength will normally develop after 30 minutes

Cleaning

• Remove excess adhesive immediately
• Cured adhesive can only be removed mechanically

Curing

Storage & Shelf Life

• Store in dry shaded conditions between 5°C and 25°C
• Shelf life of 9 months when stored as recommended in original unopened packaging
