Application
- Can be applied on all surface types common to construction: mortar, brick, concrete, old paint, etc.
- The substrate must be dry, firm, well adhered, even and free of any impurities that could hinder the perfect bonding of the product
- Any organic growth and/or other impurities should be removed by thorough cleaning using specific products for this purpose
- If the substrate is not well adhered, has chips or patches of existing paint, remove the non-adherent areas by scraping and brushing. If the substrate has salt deposits, brush and apply Neutralysal
- Shake and dilute with water using 10-15% per litre of product (Approx. 150-200ml water p/L of primer). Ensure good mixing. Avoid excessive shaking to minimise bubble occlusion
- Applicable by roller, brush, or airless spray
- Apply 1 coat evenly. Paint in sections, starting with borders. Without overloading the roller, dip it lightly into the primer to spread evenly. Do not paint over areas that are drying and avoid splices
- Leave 4-6 hours before application of Graphenstone paints
- Clean tools after use with warm water
Limitations
- An excess of product per coat can generate micro- fissures
- Mineral substrates must be at least 28 days old
- The surfaces to be painted must be resistant to high alkalinity
- Do not apply to surfaces in permanent contact with water
- In case of rain, let the surface dry at least 24 hours before application
- It is recommended to protect the treated surface from rain before application
- Parts that are not going to be treated should be protected (glassware or carpentry)
- Should there be any strict aesthetic requirements, it is recommended to carry out preliminary tests
- To maintain product efficacy do not mix with other brands

Anna Edwards on 2023-04-27 09:19:55 | Question: Can this be used to smooth out imperfections on a lime plastered interior wall, before painting with a breathable paint? The wall in question has suffered from damp in the past and I want to ensure that any substance I put on it is fully breathable. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: This filler is quite textured, it acts like a textured masonry where the small bits of aggregate will get into cracks. It’s not noticeable on external render but wouldn’t look good for internal smooth plaster. These areas should be addressed with a lime plaster. Regarding redecoration we would recommend 1 coat of Graphenstone Ambient Primer L42 followed by Graphenstone GCS Interior. This is available in a range of colours in a matt finish. Graphenstone Samples are available. | |
