Nu-Guard Anti Carbonation Coating is an acrylic solution for use on general masonry and will breathe extended life into surfaces and structures, formulated to give exceptional durability, weather resistance, and excellent adhesion to general masonry.
Particularly well-suited to concrete surfaces, this anti-carbonation coating will give you peace of mind for the next 10 years with your surfaces protected against the chemical reactions that are eating away at it; carbonation in concrete is where lime in the cement reacts with carbon dioxide in the air, which degrades the aesthetic quality and structural integrity of the concrete. The Nu-Guard Anti Carbonation Coating is the perfect solution to resist against this. If applied at the recommended film thickness, will provide protection in excess of 10 years on properly prepared sound substrates. The coating exhibits excellent breathability.
All-in-all, this anti-carbonation coating makes your life easier and more cost-effective; you don't have to battle the elements for the next decade, the chemical reactions which lead to carbonation start from day one. The sooner this coating is applied, the better.
Remove all loose flaking coatings back to a firm edge. Remove any organic growth with a stiff bristle (not wire) brush and apply a liberal coat of Hydron SS1 Sterilising Solution. Make good any defective surfaces as well as leaking rainwater goods. Ensure surfaces to be treated are clean, free from contamination and dry. Prime porous surfaces with SB Stabilising Primer. All equipment should be cleaned with water.
Two coats by brush, roller or spray. Stir thoroughly before use. Recommended film thickness per coat: 120 microns wet. Total dry film thickness: 96 microns. Usually dry and re-coatable in 4-6 hours at 20°C
