Rapid setting fiber reinforced hybrid floor leveling compound with Hybrid Active Dry Technology
SCHÖNOX HS 10 F combines the advantages of a low tension calciumsulphate based leveling compound with the fast drying of cementitious systems. Embedded fibres provide reinforcement, making it unnecessary to use a reinforcing mat. Especially suitable for wood floor boards, chipboards, OSB-boards, mastic asphalt screeds and other critical substrates. Because of the innovative Hybrid Active Dry Technology it is ready for covering already after 6 hours.

Applications
SCHÖNOX HS 10 F is suitable for filling, smoothing, evening and levelling of substrates:
- under textile and elastic coverings as well as parquet
- in combination with lamina panel heatings (warmwater or electrical), e.g. Uponor or Magnum in interior areas.
Substrates
SCHÖNOX HS 10 F is suitable for filling, smoothing, evening and levelling of:
- Wood planks
- OSB boards (class 3 - 4)
- Particle boards (P4 - P7)
- Fixed parquet
- Dry screeds
- Calcium sulphate based screeds
- Mastic asphalt screeds (sanded) IC 10 and IC 15 according to EN 13 813, layer thickness 3 to 10 mm
- Magnesia screeds
- Xylolite screeds
- Old substrates such as ceramic tiles, natural stones and terrazzo
- Old substrates with old water-resistant adhesive residues
- Concrete
- Cement and rapid cement screeds
Requirements of Substrate
- Adequate strength, load bearing capacity, dimensional stability and permanent dryness.
- Free of residues which reduce adhesion, e.g. dust, dirt, oil, fat and loose particles.
- Surface treatments or any "friable" areas of the subfloor must be mechanically removed and the subfloor repaired with SCHÖNOX levelling compounds as required.
- Old, loose and weak levelling layers should be removed mechanically.
- With subsequent installation of floor coverings, cement screeds are required to display a residual moisture reading of ≤ 2.0 CM-% (heating screeds ≤ 1.8 CM-%), calcium sulphate screeds should have a reading of ≤ 0.5 CM-% (heating screeds ≤ 0.3 CM-%).
- Layers of water-soluble adhesives, e.g. sulphite-waste-adhesives, are to be mechanically removed. Remaining adhesive residues should be primed with SCHÖNOX HP RAPID.
- Old water-resistant adhesives are to be mechanically removed as far as possible.
- Old floors, such as ceramic tiles are to be thoroughly cleaned and sanded.
- Rooms in buildings without a basement, are to be sealed against rising dampness in compliance with the standard.
- Timber floors must be stable, sound and requires a normal moisture content of wood. Let some space (joint approx. 10 mm) to the walls while levelling to ensure ventilation of the construction.
- Loose boards and planks must be firmly screwed down. Change damaged wooden planks.
- The requirements of the relevant valid standards, guidelines and data sheets apply.
Priming
Normal absorbent substrates such as:
- Cement screeds
- Rapid cement screeds
- Concrete
Prime with SCHÖNOX VD (1:3) or SCHÖNOX KH FIX.
Non-absorbent, smooth, sound substrates such as:
- Mastic asphalt screeds, insufficient sanded
- Ceramic tiles (throughly cleaned and abraded)
- Water-resistant adhesive residues (re- moved as far as possible)
Prime with SCHÖNOX SHP or SCHÖNOX VD (neat).
Calcium sulphate substrates such as:
- Calcium sulphate screeds
- Dry screeds
Prime with SCHÖNOX KH FIX or SCHÖNOX VD (1:1).
Magnesia screeds (not xylolite):
Prime with SCHÖNOX SHP.
Xylolite screeds

Wooden substrates like e.g.:
- Stable laid wooden planks
- Chipboard or OSB
- Parquet
Protect against moisture with SCHÖNOX VD (neat)(drying time 2 hours).
For layer-thickness exceeding 10 mm on substrates sensitive to mois- ture (e.g. calcium sulphate screeds, wooden substrates etc.) SCHÖNOX recom- mend priming with a reaction resin based primer e.g. SCHÖNOX HP RAPID.
Mixing Ratio
For 25,0 kg SCHÖNOX HS 10 F - approx. 5,5 l water
Recommended Method of Working
- The ideal working temperature is 15 ° C floor temperature, 18°C air temperature, ≤ 65 % relative humidity.
- Using a clean receptacle, add SCHÖNOX HS 10 F to cold clean water to form a homogeneous mixture. Use of a mixer with 600 rpm is recommended. After letting it stand for approx. 3 minutes, mix again thoroughly. Then pour out the levelling compound and spread using a smoothing trowel.
- Due to the high fibre content, full containers should be mixed to guarantee even distribution of the fibres.
- In the case of higher layer-thickness, contact with vertical structures should be avoided by putting in an perimeter isolating strip.
- If a second layer of levelling compound is to be applied, the first levelling compound layer should be primed with SCHÖNOX VD (1:1) or SCHÖNOX KH FIX when dry. The maximum layer thickness may not be exceeded in case of two-layer application. The second layer may not exceed the layer thickness of the first.
- Possible joints in the subfloor, e.g. in wooden planks, should be closed previously with a sturdy material.
- Carry out preparatory work - such as filling joints, evening out hollows and unevenness - using the sturdy repair mortar SCHÖNOX RR.
- Protect curing SCHÖNOX HS 10 F levelling layers from high ambient temperatures, direct sunlight and draughts.
- If grinding of SCHÖNOX HS 10 F is necessary use a paper or net with grit-size ≥ 80.
- Contact to metal like water-bearing pipes must be avoided (e.g. sealing of pipe penetrations), because especially galvanised steel pipes have no sufficient corrosion protection.
- Clean tools in water immediately after use.
