SCHÖNOX COMBILEIT is a conductive universal adhesive for all conductive coverings, suitable for bonding conductive and antistatic carpet, vinyls, rubber and linoleum. For internal use with no conductive primer required, the adhesive has a short waiting time - see further below for drying times and application details.

All values are approximate, are subject to local climatic fluctuations and vary according to the absorbency of the substrates and the applicator device.

Applications

SCHÖNOX COMBILEIT is suitable for bonding of conductive and antistatic:

• Textile coverings, e.g. needlefelt
• PVC floor coverings
• Synthetic rubber coverings in rolls and tiles up to 3.5 mm thickness
• Linoleum coverings in sheets on suitable absorbent substrates in living and business areas (interior)

Requirements of Substrate

• Adequate strength, load bearing capacity, dimensional stability and permanent dryness
• Free of residues which reduce adhesion, e.g. dust, dirt, oil, fat and loose particles
• Sound, even surfaces with absorbency level appropriate to use are achieved by using SCHÖNOX levelling compounds, layer thickness for vapor proof coverings as well as on non absorbent substrates at least 2 mm
• Old, suitable coverings should be firmly bonded, thoroughly cleaned, abraded and should, if necessary, treated with a plasticizer barrier (e.g. SCHÖNOX FS)
• A conductive primer is not required. All 30 m² a copper strip of approx. 1 m in length should be glued to the earth potential. The distance between the copper strips must not exceed 8 m
• A copper strip grid is only required when no adequate earth potentials are available
• The connection to the potential neutraliser should be carried out by an approved electrical contractor
• In order to receive the substrate requirements of the specific coverings, refer to the technical product information of the coverings manufacturer
• The requirements of the relevant valid standards, guidelines and data sheets apply

Recommended Method of Working

• SCHÖNOX COMBILEIT is a very low emission dispersion adhesive and should be stirred before use
• Coverings to be laid with SCHÖNOX COMBILEIT should be conditioned, unstressed and in a flat position
• Spread the adhesive evenly on the substrate using the spreader supplied. Avoid lumps of adhesive. During application periodically remove collected fibres from spreader
• Recommended notched trowel:
• SCHÖNOX notched trowel - coarse/fine.
• The right amount of adhesive is determined by the backing of the covering. Ensure that there is adequate wetting
• Non diffusion permeable coverings should be laid on absorbent substrates during the "semi-wet phase"
• Linoleum and diffusion permeable coverings like e.g. needlefelt on absorbent substrates should be laid during the "wet phase"
• Textile coverings are laid on substrates levelled with SCHÖNOX DS or SCHÖNOX FS during the "semi-wet phase"
• The distance between each linoleum sheet should be at least the thickness of a postcard
• After laying without bubbles, rub down the covering and after a waiting time rub again or roll it
• Wait at least 24 hours before sealing joints
• Laying stages:
• "Wet phase": adhesive applied does not yet display any stringiness
• "Semi-wet phase": start of contact phase, adhesive groove domes are transparent, stringiness is present
• Adhesive groove is not yet dried through
• Direct securing to old adhesive residues can lead to interactions and thus to unpleasant smells

Storage

• Store SCHÖNOX COMBILEIT in cool, dry, frost-free conditions.
• Storage life of 1 year (in closed packaging).
• Opened bags should be closed immediately and used up as soon as possible.
• Remove any skin that has formed, do not stir in.
