![]() | Question: Hi I have a asbestos garage roof that I want to seal to make it waterproof what can you recommend? Thanks. |
Answer: For waterproofing of asbestos roofs we recommend Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS followed by Rust-Oleum Mathys Dacfill Waterproofing.
![]() | Question: I have a garage roof with some white asbestos (Been tested) - what would you recommend on products to seal the roof rather than have the asbestos removed. |
Answer: On internal surfaces (i.e. underside of the roof we would recommend Thermoguard Asbestos Encapsulating Coating, for external surfaces (i.e. top side of the roof) assuming it is pitched we would recommend Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS followed by Rust-Oleum Mathys Dacfill Waterproofing.
![]() | Question: What type of grey? A light grey or a dark grey? |
Answer: It is a dark grey close to BS 00A13.
![]() | Question: Hi, I have vertical hanging man made slate in my house front and back to the first floor. The slate may or may not have asbestos content but in anywise I want to coat them so that they can be sealed to offer longevity and aesthetic improvement, hopefully as near to a satin type finish as would you'd get from new man made slates, is this the product for me? |
Answer: If the slate tiles have not been previously coated, then Teamac Acrylic Coating can seal the surface and give an aesthetic improvement, however it dries to a low sheen/matt finish. Bedec Super-Flex has more of a satin finish and would also be suitable.
![]() | Question: Is this suitable for an corrugated asbestos sloping roof? Does it require any jointing tape? Existing roof been de-mossed. Does product require anti fungal solution before application? |
Answer: Teamac Acrylic Coating is suitable for corrugated asbestos, it will seal and colour the asbestos but it is not a full waterproofing system so any damages to the asbestos, joints, fixings, etc. would have to be repaired to make the roof watertight prior to coating. The roof surface does need to be clean prior to application of the Teamac Acrylic Coating (contact us for guidance on cleaning asbestos if requried) and a fungicidal solution to treat and wash the roof with like Rust-Oleum Mathys AMW Fungicidal Wash is always good practice.
![]() | Question: Can I use Teamac coating on existing sound but worn bitumen sheeting. |
Answer: Yes, it should be fine to use on this but we would recommend a test is done for adhesion before applying the coating to the entire area. The more weathered the sheeting is the better, as this should mean it will be more porous and provide better adhesion.
![]() | Question: Is teamac acrylic coating ok to use on the under side of a ribbed asbestos roof? |
Answer: Yes, it can be applied directly in two coats after cleaning. Be sure to follow government and local authoriy guidelines - further information on this can be provided by our Technical Department upon request.
![]() | Question: Teamac acrylic coating - would this be suitable to put on top of what i think is fibreglass flat roof, some if the layer of what is there is peeling and looking close to being bare? Or is another in the range more suited, colour must be green, thanks julia |
Answer: Teamac Acrylic Coating is intended for use on pitched roofs and should not be applied to flat roofs. We have a wide range of flat roof paint, but we only offer one that is availble in green - Bedec Super-Flex.
