Britannia Hi-Bond Asphalt Adhesive is a one pack water-based adhesive which eliminates the need for traditional methods of surface preparation i.e. roughening, scrabbling, rendering and mechanical fixing.

The water-based modified rubber solution provides high adhesive bonding between asphalt and conventional building substrates. It is also suitable for use with hot and cold applied bituminous compounds.

Safe and eco-friendly.

Note: Do not use as a primer for roof coatings.

Spreading Rate

These will vary depending on substrate, the site conditions and longevity required.

Typically spreading rates will vary depending on the end use.

• Up to 5 square metres per litre on concrete/brick work and up to 10 square metres per litre on smooth surfaces
• Vertical surfaces will tend to take a slightly heavier application

Drying Times

• Britannia Hi-Bond must be allowed to dry thoroughly before proceeding with asphalt or bituminous application

Preparation

• The surface must be dry and free of loose and friable materials and all fungal and algal growth removed

Application

• Do not thin
• Shake the can well before use
• Please follow the coverage rates shown in Spreading Rate Section
• Application temperature should be between 5°C and 25°C
• Do not apply in wet or frosty weather
• Apply a coat of Britannia Hi-Bond to the prepared area and bond the surface to it immediately
• Britannia Hi-Bond is pigmented orange to assist in obtaining an even application

Cleaning

• Clean all equipment immediately with water after use

Shelf Life & Storage

• Up to 12 months if stored correctly in an unopened container
• Store above 5°C

Precautions

• Keep out of reach of children
• In case of contact with eyes wash immediately with plenty of water
• Remove splashes from skin with soap and water or a recognised hand cleaner
• Protect from freezing
• Do not apply paint if there is a risk of heavy rain or frost
• Do not use near fishponds
• Harmful to aquatic organisms
• May cause long term adverse effects in the aquatic environments
