    Features & Benefits

    • 100% acrylic coating
    • Long lasting external decorative and protective finish
    • For use on concrete and fibre cement roof tiles
    • Excellent durability and light-fast properties
    • Excellent adhesion to porous surfaces
    • Should not be used on painted surfaces or high density/low suction substrates such as glazed brick and tiles, engineering bricks and natural slate tiles

    Preparation

Clean the surface by power washing and/or brushing with a stiff brush. Replace broken or missing tiles and re-cement ridge/top tiles.

Apply Cromar Moss & Mould Remover solution to prevent further fungal/algae growth.

Apply two coats of Cromar Renocoat.

    Application

Work should only be carried out in dry conditions, do not apply if rain is forecast within six hours of application and when the relative humidity level exceeds 90%.

Do not apply in frosty conditions or when the substrate temperature is below 5° or above 35°C.

Do not apply when the roof tile temperature is above 35° to ensure that no premature surface drying occurs.

Cromar Renocoat may be applied by brush or airless sprayer. Do not thin prior to use, Cromar Renocoat will withstand rainfall after two hours in favourable drying conditions.

Apply the first coat and leave to dry overnight before applying the second coat.

    Coverage

The coverage rates will vary with roof profile and substrate porosity. The first coat application will give guideline coverage of 2.5-4m² per kg. The second coat application will be at a coverage rate of 6-10m² per kg.

Cromar Fungicidal Wash should be applied at a rate of 6/8m² per litre.

    Cleaning Tools

Clean all equipment immediately with water.

Assuming the fibre cement tiles are bare, clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet Cromar Renocoat Roof Tile Renovation Paint can be applied directly without a primer.

    Question:

Hi, your paint for tiles states maximum 35 degrees to prevent drying out too fast. I would like to paint my vertical tile hanging - do you have a product suitable for this? Many thanks

    Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Here in the UK we would be very surprised if we hit 35°C so Cromar Renocoat Roof Tile Renovation Paint would be our recommended product for application on to tiles.

    Question:

What brush would be best to apply this to the tiles?

    Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

We would recommend using Contractor Paint Brushes.

    Question:

I have grey concrete roof tiles which are scuffed on installation. Can this product be used on the scuffed areas to give a more uniform colour, assuming the colour is a close match?

    Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:

Assuming the concrete tiles are clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet this can be used.

But we would recommend coating the whole area rather than small areas to achieve a uniform appearance.
