Nu-Guard AG is a unique anti-graffiti coating that protects all surfaces, including brick, concrete, render, stone, wood and plastic against all types of graffiti and poster glues. It’s been completely re-engineered in England to provide the most vandal resistant finish ever achieved anywhere in the world.
Once coated with Nu-Guard AG, nothing can stick to the surface. Nu-Guard AG is completely resistant to ALL paints, permanent markers and the majority of acids. Simply wash with water and graffiti disappears and posters just slide off, providing permanent protection against graffiti attack – without ghosting residue.
Nu-Guard AG is one of the most economical and easy to use anti graffiti products available on the market today.
Ensure surfaces to be treated are clean, free from contamination and dry. To prevent concrete surfaces darkening (when using clear) and/or application is to very porous surfaces, it is advisable to apply one coat of Nu-Guard WB Concrete Sealer. Glazed tiles and other dense surfaces should be first primed with Nu-Guard AG Adhesion Promoter.
Apply Nu-Guard AG by brush, roller or spray at a rate of 8 - 10m² per litre. In most instances one coat should be sufficient, however there may be instances where a second coat is required. Do not be apply at temperatures below 5ºC or when the relative humidity exceeds 85%.

![]() | Question:
Can you tell me which thinners if any I can clean brushes after using this coating please. Thank you. |
Answer:
For cleaning application equipment you will require Bartoline White Spirit.
![]() | Question:
How long do I have to wait before I put another coat on |
Answer:
In good drying conditions approximately 4 hours.
![]() | Question:
Hi, I want to buy some of your Hydron Nu-Guard AG (Black) and I would like to use a roller which is the best type of roller to use, sponge (gloss type) or wool (emulsion type) of roller. |
Answer:
We would recommend a standard medium pile roller for application of Hydron Nu-Guard AG to ensure the correct thickness of coating is achieved. You can purchase roller sleeves via the following link Roller Sleeves
![]() | Question: Hi, I have to secure previously painted door, water base and oil base stain. Can I use Nu guard AG Clear for this job? |
Answer: Yes this should be fine but we would always advise carrying out a small test area to check for compatibility before applying to the whole area.
![]() | Question: Hi looking to buy 12.5 ltrs of your Nu guard anti vandal paint in a semi Matt finish. I stay in Edinburgh, what is your policy for delivery’s?

![]() | Question: Hi, I am looking to purchase this product to apply to a newly stained shopfront. What type of finish does this leave? I am looking to retain the natural wood stained finish on the shopfront. |
Answer: Hydron Nu-Guard AG is available in clear with the option of a semi-matt or gloss finish.
![]() | Question: I would like to use this as a top coat for an art mural painted with exterior gloss. Would this be suitable? I am looking for a glossy tough finish as I have used anti graffiti top coat before which is quite rubbery with a matt finish which would not be suitable for this project as it dulls the colours. |
Answer: Hydron Nu-Guard AG is available in a gloss finish but it does leave the 'rubbery' feel to the surface as you have explained. A 'hard' feel gloss finish alternative would be Rust-Oleum 4900 Polycoat 2K.
![]() | Question: Hi, If I have used this product and then some years later want to repaint the wall, will the new paint take ok to the surface? |
Answer: Further Hydron Nu-Guard AG could be applied without issue and this is also available in colours if required however other paints would not be able to be used due to potential adhesion issues so we would in that instance recommend complete removal of the Hydron Nu-Guard AG if this was required.
![]() | Question: I have a metal painted door that has graffiti on, if i repaint the door and apply this clear coat am i protected? and do i need to use special base coat for the your clear coat to go on to? |
Answer: Hydron Nu-Guard AG should be ideal for your project, no special paints are required to be used for re-painting your door. Once you have cleaned and re-painted as required, apply the Hydron Nu-Guard AG and once dry any subsequent graffiti attacks can be simply cleaned off with water.
![]() | Question: Would the Clear Graffiti Guard be suitable for use on Hardwood Gates that have been treated with Danish Oil |
Answer: No, the Danish Oil would first need to be removed.
![]() | Question: I want to protect a painted mural on a concrete surface from graffiti attack. Is this suitable for the job? I'm worried it might be to 'gel like', ideally i need something that leaves a very thin looking layer, so the mural can still be seen. Thanks |
Answer: Hydron Nu-Guard AG Clear should be fine for your application, it has been used extensively over murals.
![]() | Question: I would like to apply this to a red brick wall. Is the clear version likely to change the appearance/colour of the wall? |
Answer: Nu-Guard WB Concrete Sealer primes/seals very porous surfaces and prevents the darkening of light substrates prior to the application of Nu-Guard AG.
![]() | Question: We're doing some art work on large wooden boards in emulsion and acrylic paint. Would this product make them water proof too? Or can you apply over varnish? |
Answer: Yes, Nu-Guard AG would also waterproof the surface. We always recommend a test patch is done when apply over murals/artwork to ensure compatibility, adhesion and appearance are all satisfactory before coating the whole area.
![]() | Question: Is the paint UV-resistant? We need to protect artwork so that it won't fade. |
Answer: Yes it is. It will help protect the underlying paint colours from fading but it wont stop timber from ageing.
![]() | Question: Would you recommend your anti-graffiti paint be used on surfaces that children play on such as skate ramps? Would it be a safe surface to play on? Can it be used over an anti corrosive primer? many thanks Vic |
Answer: Nu-Guard AG would be great for all vertical surfaces not associated with skating on, the product is slippery when wet due to the silicone.
![]() | Question: I want to paint a storage container that has been vandalised with graffiti. I plan to lightly rub down the surface then apply a coat of Nu-Guard AG in a colour. My question is whether the Nu-Guard alone will cover the existing graffiti and provide a consistently coloured surface (as when using conventional paint) or will the metal require an undercoat? The surface is fairly rust free.
Thanks for your help. |
Answer: We would recommend thoroughly cleaning the container and preparing any areas of rusting before applying a coat of Zinsser Cover Stain to all areas. Choose a colour near to what you wish your final colour to be to aid opacity. Allow the Cover Stain to completely cure before then applying Nu-Guard AG.
