Features & Benefits
Technical Data
Drying Times At 20°C/RH 50%
Suitable and Unsuitable Substrates:
Painted substrates
In principle, direct application on ALL painted substrates is allowed, with exception of elastomeric coatings, i.e. Murfill. A test surface has to be realised beforehand for heat curing paints and for powder coatings.
Not painted or untreated substrates
Only on reinforced concrete (remaining humidity level < 4 %), Pegagraff Hydro can be applied directly.
Not recommended substrates
a) Do not apply Pegagraff Hydro on a mineral painted substrate where the relative humidity is higher than 6%. This concerns bricks, terra-cotta tiles, renderings, etc. In this case, a white film could be formed and more or less important adhesion loss will appear.
b) Do not apply Pegagraff Hydro directly on not painted metal substrates such as aluminium, steel, zinc, stainless steel, copper, etc.
c) Do not apply Pegagraff Hydro directly on bare wood for exterior applications.
d) Do not apply Pegagraff Hydro directly on rough surfaces such as plaster, rough brickwork (masonry), etc.

![]() | Question:
Can Mathys Pegagraff Hydro be used on a painted metal garage roller door. If not I would be grateful if you can recommend a suitable product. Many thanks Imran |
Answer:
Assuming the previously painted roller shutter is clean, dry, sound, prepared as detailed in the Technical Data Sheet and a test on a small area for compatibility/adhesion is undertaken prior to full application Mathys Pegagraff Hydro can be used for this application. Please be aware this will wear on the joints on the roller shutter.
![]() | Question: we have just renewed our garden fence with pressure treated boards (rough sawn appearance) approximately 40mtr long and 2.1mtr high Can you recommend an anti-graffiti paint |
Answer: Mathys Pegagraff Hydro is not suitable for bare exterior timber, we would instead recommend Hydron Nu-Guard AG. Apply 2 - 3 coats directly to the wood as required.
![]() | Question: Hi. Just built a brick wall and fence for a customer which is the boundary wall between his property and an alleyway. Is this product suitable to use for the fence and wall or can you recommend anything else in your range? |
Answer: Mathys Pegagraff Hydro would not be suitable for either of these surfaces, we would instead recommend Hydron Nu-Guard AG which would be suitable for both.
![]() | Question: Good Morning , I emailed you yesterday but unfortunately have not heard anything back as yet. I am looking to use Mathys Pegagraff Hydro on artwork painted onto marine ply panels, which will be left outside all year round. Can you please let me know if the product is water proof, as I need the artwork to be both graffiti proof and weather proof.
Kind regards
Nick. |
Answer: Mathys Pegagraff Hydro is suitable for exterior use so is by default waterpoof and should be perfectly suited to this application as long as all of the timber has been previously coated and Mathys Pegagraff Hydro will not be applied to any areas of bare timber or elastomeric coatings. When applying a graffiti coating over a mural we always recommend a test area is carried out prior to full application to ensure compatibility and aesthetic appearance.
