Preparation & Application

Substrate Preparation
Remove any graffiti using a high-pressure sprayer or by using Keim Graffiti Cleaner. All loose, flaking and unstable material must be identified and then thoroughly removed, all surfaces must be thoroughly washed down with clean cold water to remove all surface dirt and dust. When all surfaces are clean, sound, wind dry, dust free and free from all surface contaminants, application of Keim Wax Coating may proceed.

We would recommend that a two coat Keim Anti-Graffiti Wax Coating system be used, applied with 4 hours between coats. Each coat is applied working from the top downwards by low-pressure spray (hold the nozzle 10-20cm from the surface), apply the first coat horizontally and then the second coat vertically (cross-coats) thus ensuring that all facets of the substrate are well coated. Application using brush, roller or an airless spray gun is also possible.

To affect the removal of subsequent graffiti damage for best results remove as soon as possible after the graffiti has been applied. Graffiti can be removed using high pressure sprayer (80oC at a pressure of 60-90 BAR).

Once the graffiti has been removed and the surface is dry the Keim Anti-Graffiti Wax Coating should be reapplied.

Approx. 0.25 – 0.3 lt/m² (for two coats) Consumption rates are offered for guideline purposes only and are quoted for smooth rendered surfaces. Actual rates are the responsibility of the applicator. Project specifications should be referred to for specific rates.
